Job Description

  • Maintain a detailed knowledge of the entire IT Computer configuration of the property.
  • Ensure that the entire hotel configuration experiences minimal operating interruption.
  • Establish a maintenance checklist of all IT Equipment installed in the Hotel.
  • Ensure that guest complaints related to hotel IT are logged, and quickly addressed to the full satisfaction of the guest.  Immediate attention must be given to any guest complaint.
  • Ensure that confidential information is not released to any unauthorized persons.
  • Arrange application training of users, in coordination with respective Div/Dept. Heads.
  • Train all hotel users in back-up data procedures and monitor to ensure compliance at all times.
  • To establish emergency procedures and contingency plans for crisis situations i.e. when the system is down.
  • Maintain proper documentation for all systems in use.
  • Establish security measures on safety of files and disks on back-ups against fire and other possible damage.
  • Assist the Financial Controller in the internal control measurements relating to IT.
  • Monitor interfacing of modules between various hotel systems to ensure efficiency and to prevent losses.
  • Establish a system of contact with suppliers of hotel hardware and software’s for any arising needs.
  • Make recommendations to management in respect of upgrades to existing software.
  • To check on the status of computer system equipment and that they are adequate for department users.  Schedule and prioritise user requests for heavy demands on system, if necessary.
  • Conduct analysis of work flow.  Recommend procedural changes as required.
  • Ensure that all users are provided with adequate proper training in the day to day use of the hotel’s systems.
  • Ensure that sufficient forms, office stationeries, computer items and others are readily available and at the same time ensure that they are within budget.
  • Work closely with the Controller and the Finance Manager on whatever special projects are required to maintain and upgrade the quality of IT services within the Hotel.
  • Be required to work at irregular hours and readily available on call basis on all systems problems and emergencies. 

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2-3 years' experience in a similar role preferably in a 5 Star luxury resort.
  • Deep knowledge in computer: Hardware, Software, Data Base, and Networking.
  • Well experienced in systems design, analysis and project implementation, central reservation system, back-office modules and interfaces.
  • Logical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Result-oriented with high self-drive and commitment
  • Resourceful and well-rounded
  • Independent and able to work with minimal supervision, and able to work well in team.
  • Fluent in English Communication both written and verbal.
