Job Description
Please note that this is not an exhaustive list of everything that needs to be done. Anantara employees always find new ways to look after the business, their guests, and their colleagues. Within this, the key responsibilities for this position are:
- Carries out repairs and maintenance of domestic hot/cold water systems, water treatment system, sewage treatment system, rain water system, storm and sanitary sewer systems, irrigation/fountain water systems and swimming pools.
- Constructs, assembles and repairs all different piping systems which may include GI, PVC, HDPE, MS, Cast Iron piping and fabrication of necessary brackets and supports for installation.
- Applies & Monitors Chemical treatment maintaining proper levels of (Ph, Cl, TDS, etc.)in all water systems
- Attends to replacement or new construction projects when required.
- Maintenance of all pumps within the water & sewage systems
- Attends to repairs or replacement of all bathroom/toilet fixtures in guestrooms, public areas and back-of-the-house areas.
- Operates and maintains RO plant when needed.
- Attends to Guest Room Maintenance Requests when instructed to do so.
- Attends to all types of repair and maintenance work in the resort premises including new additional/extensions to the resort or any other properties maintained by ANANTARA.
- To perform shift duties when assigned to do so.
- Carry out water meter readings on daily basis and reports to supervisor for any discrepancies noticed.
- Cleaning and maintenance of main pool when assigned
- Cleans all manholes and clears sewage and storm water lines blockages using appropriate tools and equipment.
- Cleaning of grease traps when assigned to do so
- When assigned with duty phone, to respond to requests appropriately.
- Attends meeting or training sessions as required by management.
- Complies with ANANTARA Safety, Fire and Hygiene Policy and Procedures.
- Complies with Departmental Standards and Procedure (SOP).
- Participates with ANANTARA Environmental Program.
- Participates with the resort’s energy conservation program.
- Ensure that Workshop and related areas are kept in a safe, clean and hygienic condition.
- Ensure that issued hand tools are kept in proper working order
- Records daily work activity on the daily work summary.
- Does all jobs or tasks assigned by supervisor or managers regarding engineering work
- Performs related duties and special projects as assigned.
- Interacts – cooperates with others in the Engineering Department.
- Interacts and cooperates with resort contractors as directed
- Interacts with other departments when necessary to provide additional or specialized services for functions, promotions and festivities.
- Acts as Fire Brigade Team Member when assigned.
Qualifications
- School education or Engineering Diploma in plumbing
- Necessary Certificates and trainings
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in similar capacity
- Market knowledge of related products.
- Very good English language skills with good communication abilities.
- Ability to work independently.
- Capability to organize and execute preventive maintenance schedules.
- Positive attitude or capability to carry out fault finding.
