Job Description
To serve the needs of the business, our guests and our colleagues by administering the day-to-day operations of Wine service areas in the hotel.
- As Senior Wine Guru it will be your responsibility to direct and ensure the implementation and execution of policies and procedures as they relate to wine sales.
- You will create new opportunities to maximize and generate extra revenue, recommend measures to control/reduce costs, and ensure that the operational budgets are strictly adhered to.
- The leadership team will look to you to develop and recommend merchandising and promotional programs to maximize wine sales. Additionally, you will provide training and development opportunities for all team members in your department.
- You will be responsible for exceeding guest satisfaction, standards, and ratings for the wine service property and personally make recommendations, serve VIPs, and handle guest questions or concerns.
- You will be fully in charge of all wine displays on the property.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years previous Head Sommelier or Wine Guru experience in fine dining or similar luxury multioutlet property.
- Food & Beverage management experience Required.
- WSET Level 3, Advance certifications in Court of Master Sommeliers or similar accreditation preferred.
- Extensive knowledge pertaining to all aspects of winegrowing, wine production, wine styles and regional wine laws from around the world.
- Experienced in organizing wine dinner and must be experienced in curating wine tastings.
- Reliable, organized, efficient, courteous, professional, curious and a team player.
- Strong Inventory management skill, able to manage wine cellar with over 12,000 bottles in inventory.
- Must have prior experience and detail understanding in Menu engineering and Wine list management.
