Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate DES - InWork Support Coach to join our team in Penrith and surrounding suburbs, Australia. As part of our Disability Employment Services program, you will play a crucial role in supporting job seekers with disabilities in the Canterbury Bankstown area, helping them achieve their employment goals and maintain long-term success in the workplace.
- Provide personalized coaching and support to job seekers with disabilities, assisting them in overcoming barriers to employment
- Develop and implement tailored employment plans for each client, considering their unique skills, abilities, and career aspirations
- Conduct regular check-ins with employed clients to ensure job retention and address any workplace challenges
- Collaborate with local employers to identify suitable job opportunities and promote inclusive hiring practices
- Assist clients with job search activities, including resume writing, interview preparation, and job application processes
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, progress reports, and program documentation
- Liaise with community organizations, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders to ensure comprehensive support for clients
- Stay informed about local job market trends and employment opportunities in the Canterbury Bankstown area
- Advocate for clients' rights and needs in the workplace, promoting a supportive and inclusive work environment
Qualifications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse clients
- Excellent case management experience and organizational abilities
- Fluency in English (knowledge of Mandarin and Cantonese language is a plus)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and familiarity with case management software
- Demonstrated experience in job search techniques and resources
- Understanding of the local job market and employment trends in the Canterbury Bankstown area
- Knowledge of disability support services and resources available in the community
- Empathetic and patient approach, with a genuine commitment to helping others succeed
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle may be required for travel within the service area
