Job Description

We are looking for a Rehabilitation Counsellor to join our team around Central Coast or Newcastle on a full-time basis.

How you’ll be making an impact in people’s lives:

  • Undertaking assessments relevant to your discipline to develop and implement effective rehabilitation plans
  • Designing and implementing intervention programmes using occupation to improve functional performance, independence and work capacity
  • Identifying barriers and designing, implementing and monitoring programs that support people to achieve maximal work participation
  • Understanding a variety of healthcare and rehabilitation funding schemes and empowering your clients to achieve their wellness and recovery goals
  • Liaising with clients, family members, funding bodies, medical practitioners, employers and stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes

 

Qualifications

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • Australian recognised degree qualifications & registration in Psychology/Provisional Psychology or Rehab Counselling (AHPRA / ASORC)
  • Willingness to learn and impact positively on people’s lives in tangible ways
  • The ability to engage clients and stakeholders in the wellness and work journey
  • A commitment to a high level of customer service to your clients and customers
  • Willingness to work in the community (must have drivers licence and access to own vehicle)
  • Current or able to get a Working with Children Check and Police Clearance
