Pay Range
$140,690-$211,035/year 

Compensation is determined by several factors, including location, relevant experience, skill level, and internal equity.  Please note, we don’t typically hire above midpoint.

Job Description

The Managing Director of Human Resources is responsible for leading the Human Resources team and for building people strategies that align with the culture and business objectives. This role leads various teams within Human Resources including field HR teams and labor relations. The Managing Director is responsible for building out programs that attract, engage, and retain employees, as well as support the business leaders to ensure effective staffing and productivity. This position is highly collaborative and works very closely with the operations leaders. The position reports directly to the President of McGee Air Services.  

Key Responsibilities

  • Consults and collaborates with the President and Senior Leadership Team to develop people strategies that evolve and grow McGee Air Service’s culture and business.
  • Provides leadership, direction, and advisement to the Human Resource teams.
  • Works with and guides senior leaders to design and execute effective people strategies.
  • Translate people strategies with HR leaders into actionable people-focused, department goals.
  • Builds scalable talent and organizational programs focused on continuously improving operational capability.
  • Guides the talent acquisition and recruiting team to attract, hire and onboard employees.
  • Grows a healthy pipeline of employees and manages a succession planning process.
  • Oversees the organizational talent management responsibilities – providing strategy and insight to organizational design, performance, compensation and employee engagement solutions. 
  • Partners with leaders on developing performance solutions, enabling high performance and quickly addressing performance challenges.
  • Ensures compliance, mitigates risk, and maintains thorough knowledge in HR legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Leads the employee relations and leaves practice, ensuring legal, regulatory and compliance requirements including EEO, Fair Labor Standards, Wage and Hour, FMLA, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Champions and promotes an engaged, inclusive, equitable, and diverse organizational culture.
  • Develop team capabilities through coaching, mentoring, and by providing regular and meaningful feedback.
  • Foster open and honest communication that creates an inclusive, engaging, and high-performance culture that demonstrates McGee's values of Safety, Integrity, Mutual Respect, Accountability and Pride.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support McGee’s successful business operation.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree specializing in Human Resources, Business Management, Organizational Development, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • 7 years of Human Resources experience.
  • 5 years of Senior Leadership experience.
  • Previous experience working with labor unions.
  • Strong consulting skills including negotiation, persuasion, coaching, teaching, influencing, listening and objectivity.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and flexible enough to quickly adjust and respond to changing priorities.
  • Ability to develop and motivate team members and maximize individual and team performance.
  • High degree of independent decision making and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proactive insight and strategic thinking.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Ability to travel (approximately 10-20%).
  • Ability to influence others, work cross-functionally, and contribute positively to a team-oriented, safety-first culture.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred

  • SPHR or PHR or equivalent certification.
  • Aviation, Transportation, or related industry experience.
