Job Description

Reporting into the Senior Director, IDL Strategy, Alignment & Planning, this role is responsible for leading strategy and driving alignment across all four Business Units in the IDL Segment, as well as at the IDL Segment leadership level.

This role is imperative to ensure that we remain execution focused as one Segment, to achieve results for the markets and stakeholders across IDL. One key output of this role is the development and establishment of a Segment-wide 3yr Technology Roadmap that will generate market level roadmaps across each Business Unit.

In addition to the Strategy and Alignment responsibilities, the role also includes the oversight and governance. The person in this role will engage with McDonald’s Technology leadership, vendors, and Global cross functional teams to provide oversight of the progress against the Technology roadmap to Leadership.

The ideal candidate is a highly self-motivated individual with strong strategic abilities and communication skills, who can collaborate effectively with business, market, and vendor teams.

Duties and Responsibilities

Strategy & Alignment

  • Defines a clear role and vision for the IDL Segment Technology organisation, consistent with the organization's vision, strategy, and direction.
  • Create a rolling Segment level 3yr Technology Roadmap and monitor Global product and solution availability and future capabilities.
  • Collaborate across the Segment to ensure that we stay aligned on all strategic objectives.
  • Support key governance activities like the IDL Steerco, to facilitate engagement and alignment between Global, Segment and Markets
  • Accountable for running 2 Extended Leadership meetings a year (Director +) to ensure continuous alignment across the team.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with a range of stakeholders including IDL Leadership, BU Leadership, Segment Teams, and Market teams (JP)

Communication

  • Work proactively and share information with the Segment teams in a timely manner to consume at regular meetings or events such as Phase 0 planning, CIO meetings, Security summit, Supplier Summit, or ad hoc remote sessions.
  • Manage and enhance the leadership update communication process to ensure that any critical risks are highlighted to key stakeholders early.
  • Drive and align communication on key deadlines, technology market charges guide, changes to standards, to ensure that the market leads are aligned.
  • Put a communication strategy in place to ensure the right cadence of information is being shared with the team to drive engagement.
  • Work collaboratively while demonstrating, communicating, and reinforcing McDonald’s
    company Values.
  • Proactively shape and refine the ideas and agendas of the Leadership team.

Governance

  • Work closely with Technology leadership to provide oversight of the status and progress of key multi-year programs in the 3yr Technology roadmap (Sesame 1 and STA)
  • Be the liaison for contact with center-based Global Technology teams.
  • Govern the Global Technology Products & Services adoption or exception process.
  • Oversight into the CR - Change Management (Solutions Services Process), and drive awareness across all stakeholder groups to ensure alignment of support tickets.
  • Establish the appropriate communication channels to communicate IT Incidents Management and Support

Builds and Leverages Talent

  • Supports the creation of successors for key organizational positions.
  • Retains key talent by co-creating development plans that motivate and grow them.
  • Shapes roles and teams in ways that develop people's unique capabilities while supporting business goals.

Qualifications

The ideal applicant will demonstrate a proven ability to provide consultative advice and guidance to leaders, aligning with their objectives and business goals. Additionally, they should excel at anticipating and addressing needs, offering practical solutions and counsel.

  • Develops program schedules, communicate effectively, and enforce deadlines, and creatively solve issues.
  • Works with culturally diverse teams across levels in a global organisation and in an extensively outsourced environment

  • Adaptation and multi-tasking skills

Skills & Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in commerce, Marketing, or a Technology field preferred
  • Experience navigating a large, complex matrixed organization.
  • Able to influence others without direct authority.
  • Great Leader; builds, manages, and develops effective teams.

We are open to hiring in our Singapore, London or Dubai office network, relocation support will not be offered.
