We are building up an engineering team in house accountable for our strategic products. We’ll have diverse squads made up of engineers with traditional and specialized skillsets, both from internal engineers coupled with our partners, to help us flex with demand and solve technology innovation challenges done at an incredible scale.

Job Description

We are looking for a highly skilled Project Manager to lead multiple projects in support of the restaurant technology and innovations deployed in 13,000 US McDonald’s restaurants. This includes emerging technologies such as self-order kiosks, servers, integrated POS terminals, digital menu boards, biometric readers, and more. This position provides the opportunity to build relationships with a variety of McDonald’s product owners, suppliers, and franchisees. The team operates in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities that’ll be good for those that are quick to adapt while looking to experience various technologies.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Lead multiple tech projects through initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and completion utilizing established frameworks and PM methodologies
  • Work with cross-functional teams throughout the life of the project to ensure alignment from development, deployment, and support.
  • Manage hardware lifecycle for US technology estate and communicate key dates to stakeholders
  • Research new technologies and provide recommendations to meet future business needs
  • Build and evolve product lifecycle tools
  • Evaluate McDonald’s technology suppliers and other industry leaders’ product roadmaps and communicate opportunities to improve restaurant technology
  • Partner with McDonald’s owner operators, suppliers, and internal teams to advocate for innovation and modernize our restaurant technology portfolio.
  • Visit McDonald’s restaurants to gather feedback from crew and rethink approaches to improve guest experience with new technology.
  • Support and assist in daily meetings and technical projects
  • Understand McDonalds business requirements to help produce quality outcomes and adapt to new challenges as they arise.
  • Have a leadership mindset and highest level of commitment to ensure projects are managed efficiently, on schedule, and on target.

Future Projects for Consideration:

  • Manage the ongoing project evolution of the Technology Reinvestment Program (TRP) to support McDonald’s owner operator technology replacement planning with ease
  • Manage the ongoing project evolution of McDonald’s restaurant technology break-fix service models across POS suppliers to provide better support and benefits to our owner operators
  • Develop process to monitor and measure performance of RTI products, setting KPI’s, monitoring systems, data collection, data analysis, and reporting.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to prototype, test, and deploy a new lifecycle management tool for all of McDonald’s Global Technology

Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • Must be fully vaccinated (i.e., at least 2 weeks after last dose) for COVID-19 and, if hired, present proof of vaccination by start date.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or equivalent related experience
  • 8+ years overall IT experience
  • 5+ years of Project Management experience that includes large scale deployment
  • Excellent planning, communication, presentation, and organizational skills
  • Time management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple tasks to ensure project deadlines are met
  • Ability to interpret requirements and understand technical specifications documents
  • Detail oriented, self-starter
  • Solid understanding of the software development life cycle & methodologies
  • Proficient using Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint and SharePoint
  • Advanced skills in building and sustaining individual and team relationships
  • Advanced skills in project management disciplines including project and resource planning, change management, risk and issue management, project reporting including project financials.
  • Adapts readily and leads project teams effectively through changing priorities
  • Achieves alignment among stakeholders and exhibits a strong level of decisiveness in a timely manner

Desired Skills/Experience:

  • Agile and SDLC lifecycle knowledge
  • PMP certification
  • Experience working with and managing external vendors
  • Understanding and familiar with
  • Windows Desktop & Server operating systems
  • MAC OS, Linux and tablet devices
  • Local area networks
  • Networked equipment such as printers, switches, WAP’s, firewalls, routers and the like
  • Knowledge of industrial communications interfaces and protocols such as Ethernet IP, VGA, Serial, DisplayPort, USB, etc.
