Job Description

We have built a new Digital Customer Engagement (“DCE”) team to work closely alongside Global Technology in developing and deploying smart digital investments that improve experiences for our customers and drive visits, sales and cash flow for the system. Our collective vision is to make digital experiences more personal, more convenient and better value for our customers with an agile 'test, learn and improve' mindset. The role of the DCE team is to set the overall digital strategy and define digital customer solutions across ordering, payment, personalization, loyalty, and delivery. Together with Global Technology, we identify the most meaningful opportunities for our customers and our business, and we bring them to life through industry-changing products like Mobile Ordering and McDelivery. In addition to setting the overall digital vision and strategy, we help markets to accelerate opportunities, consolidate lessons to share across markets, measure progress and drive continuous improvement and enhancements to the McDonald’s customer experience.

In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing McDonald’s suite of global data and analytics products to ensure they’re set up to deliver against the personalization roadmap. Products include our ML platform, CDP, CORE ID platform and proprietary marketer tools. This role is heavily cross-functional, partnering primarily with our Global Technology team and Data & Analytics Hub, so ability to translate business requirements into technical requirements is critical.

Your responsibilities expand across global markets, with the local marketing teams being your key customer. Being a subject matter expert on McDonald’s data, technology and analytics stack is going to be critical to ensure you’re able to provide the vital support and education for the marketing teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Own and drive forward holistic customer data and analytics product vision and roadmap in support of McDonald’s personalization strategy
  • Ensure vision and roadmap align with the broader vision for how we connect with our leading-edge cross-channel vision for customers, with focus on personalization functionalities
  • Lead engagement with markets as it relates to education and support of data and analytics tools and capabilities
  • Coordinate closely with key partners within DCE and outside of data – namely Global Technology, Data & Analytics Hub
  • Drive customer data privacy strategy and vision with a focus on customer centricity and transparency, aligned with McDonalds core values
  • Own final decisions on backlog prioritization and refinement for customer data and analytics products
  • Provide cross-functional leadership to agile product squads to deliver exceptional products for the markets, including day-to-day support (e.g., sprint meetings)
  • Manage and develop team of two individuals, helping to support and deliver against customer data strategy

Qualifications

Must have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccination by date of hire to be considered. Proof of vaccination required.

  • Deep experience in customer data and analytics products such as CDPs, identity management platforms, decisioning engines, ML platforms, etc…
  • Strong acumen in the CRM analytics space, including knowledge of advanced customer segmentation and propensity modeling techniques
  • Confident working in a fast-moving environment, with a willingness to make quick decisions based on continuous prioritization and evolving customer needs
  • Good sense of curiosity with genuine desire to learn and think with agility – identifying patterns/trends and applying them in new and unfamiliar situations
  • Strong knowledge of the burgeoning data privacy and regulations landscape
  • Robust collaboration skills, with demonstrated experience working cross-functionally
  • Understanding of cultural nuances and previous experience working with people of different cultures and backgrounds
  • Self-starter mindset with a knack for solving complex problems
  • Strong relationship-building skills

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Current experience in customer data and analytics space, ideally in restaurant or retail
  • Proven managerial experience leading cross-functional teams and projects
  • Current experience working with relational databases
  • Working level knowledge of Python or R strongly preferred
