McD Tech Labs is the recently established Silicon Valley based technology development group within McDonald’s Corporation. Our mission is to deliver advanced technology solutions that address real-world, data-driven needs in the McDonald’s Restaurant environment. We are focused on using state-of-the-art Machine Learning, AI, and related technologies along with McDonald’s unparalleled scale to completely transform the customer experience!

We are currently looking for a talented leader to establish and lead our team of ML data analysts. This role reports directly to the Head of Data for McD Tech Labs. This leader will be tasked with defining the triage strategy, approach and tooling to efficiently and scalably analyze and diagnose performance of our ML products that produces petabyte-scale worth of customer interaction data weekly, across diverse regions and stores worldwide. 

The ideal candidate will have previous experience leading a team of data analysts perfecting machine learning products, and a passion for building agile, high-performing teams.

Responsibilities:

• Define methodology, tooling and framework to triage petabyte-scale ML data in partnership with other data science, engineering, business and product team leaders
• Define tools and technologies to be used by triage analysts in the ongoing evaluation of performance of the ML product in the store environment
• Manage work of triage analysts based on data and insights from performance analytics and ML teams
• Create analysis and derive insights to inform and guide leadership decision-making and strategic business and product development
• Recruit, develop and mentor a team of ML data analysts in a fast-moving and quickly growing organization

• Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or a related quantitative discipline
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in data science or analytics with demonstrated experience leading a team of Data Scientists or Analysts
• 3+ years of SQL and Python experience working with big-data
• Experience in developing state-of-the-art data analysis techniques for large-scale machine learning products
• Excellent analytical skills with an engineering, algorithmic mind to design and automate ML analysis at scale
• Demonstrated ability to facilitate and coordinate complex data analysis and development activities across teams in agile sprints with minimal direction
