About the role
Our Public Liability team are leaders in the field and as such we are growing. We are committed to supporting people who are hurt in a public place as a result of another individual or an organisation’s negligent behaviour and guide them on how they may be covered by public liability law and be eligible to receive compensation. Now that’s a job with strong purpose!
As part of your role, you will become a litigation expert. We will train you to leverage your technical expertise and experience. Your commitment to achieving equitable outcomes for our clients will be put to the test.
We are looking for a Lawyer in our Melbourne CBD office, with a strong client service focus, a personable approach where relationships matter to you, and a strong commitment and work ethic. If you have a strong desire to forge a career within Public Liability, we want to hear from you.
We are looking for someone who:
- We are seeking a candidate with approximately 2–3 years’ post-admission experience. Outstanding candidates outside this range may still be considered
- Works effectively with others and foster positive relationships
- Exhibits strong client and relationship building skills, and is able to cultivate and manage relationships with referrers and other external stakeholders
- Contributes to team success and collaborates seamlessly
- Resourceful and find creative solutions and adapt to challenges
- Determined and motivated to make a difference, and self-motivated to drive successful outcomes
- Client focussed- with a genuine passion for helping people
- Prior experience working within Public Liability, Personal injury, Medical Negligence or Litigation environment
- A strong knowledge of the relevant procedural rules relevant to Public Liability
Your role will involve:
- Review and analysis of records and documents
- Manage client intake and file load
- Drafting written communications to clients
- Drafting court documents
- Briefing counsel and experts
- Attending court for procedural hearings
- Instruct at Mediations and Court hearings
- Deep understanding client’s needs
