About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Client Support Paralegal to join our Medical Negligence Team in our Sydney CBD office. This is a 12-month contract, full time role.

As a Client Support Paralegal, you will be one of the first points of contact for all new clients in relation to their Medical Negligence enquiry, which means you will be conducting phone appointments, taking information from clients and providing general advice where required. You will liaise and work directly with the Medical Negligence Lawyers across various locations. As a firm we exist to help everyday Australians, so when a client calls, we want you to provide a personalised, informative and above all, exceptional client experience.

Some of your responsibilities

  • Manage potential new client enquires from online referrals and inbound calls.
  • Create and maintain accurate client enquiry records within the client management system and DMS.
  • Contact potential new clients to clarify or follow up information.
  • Consult with team Lawyers in relation to potential new client enquiries.
  • Schedule initial appointment for the potential client to meet with a core team Lawyer or screen out the enquiry.
  • Undertake medical research

The experience we are looking for

You will have a passion to help people and be able to provide the best client experience to all our clients. You will have the ability to display empathy on every call, be a great communicator and a natural problem solver. We work in a high-volume environment, so you will need to be able to manage your time effectively, while managing technology to assist when taking calls. You will be flexible with a desire to always accommodate client and business needs.

  • Experience in a client service role preferred but not essential
  • Legal Experience preferred but not essential
  • Strong analytical and reasoning skills
  • Strong communication skills in liaising both internally and externally - including written, oral and interpersonal
  • Strong time management and organisation skills
  • Ability to handle high volumes of work
  • Conduct general legal and medical research
  • Ability to analyse a set of facts against a decision-making tool
  • Empathy and understanding towards clients’ circumstances and needs
  • Formal legal qualifications are not essential.
