Job Description

 We have an exciting opportunity for a Paralegal to join our Commonwealth Injury Compensation (CIC) practice on a full-time, permanent basis, in either our Brisbane, North Lakes or Chermside offices.

This role has a strong focus on Comcare matters and is well suited to a paralegal with experience or interest in statutory schemes, detailed medical evidence, and supporting clients through Commonwealth workers’ compensation processes. The role will also involve assisting with NDIS disputes, including helping to prepare matters for the Administrative Review Tribunal.

This position is an important support role within the broader CIC practice. You will work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to assist in achieving practice outcomes, help prepare advice for clients, and support the interpretation of policy and claims processes. You will also assist with managing enquiries, coordinating workflows, and contributing to consistency in the team’s approach to statutory matters.

Qualifications

In this role you will be constantly challenged and expand your skill set. The successful applicant will ideally have:

  • Experience in a legal support role as a legal assistant or paralegal;
  • Demonstrated experience working on Comcare / Commonwealth workers’ compensation matters, or a strong background in complex work injury or statutory compensation schemes.
  • Excellent organisational skills and an ability to multi-task;
  • Strong communication skills in liaising both internally and externally;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite; and
  • Enthusiasm and the ability to learn & grow in this area of law.
