Job Description

Role Summary: 

The Oracle AHCS Functional Consultant is responsible for providing functional expertise in the implementation and configuration of Oracle Accounting Hub Cloud Service (AHCS) or Financial Accounting Hub (FAH). This role involves understanding complex business requirements, translating them into robust AHCS solutions, and ensuring seamless integration with source systems and other Oracle ERP/Cloud solutions. 

1. Key Responsibilities 

  • Requirements Analysis & Solution Design: Meet with business and financial stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business needs related to financial accounting processes, subledger accounting, and reporting. Translate complex requirements into functional designs and strategic solutions within AHCS. 

  • System Configuration & Implementation: Configure Oracle AHCS modules, including defining accounting rules, setting up source systems, journals, and reporting structures to meet specific business and regulatory requirements. 

  • Integration Management: Design and ensure the smooth integration of AHCS with various upstream source systems (e.g., billing, loan origination, policy administration) and downstream Oracle ERP/Cloud Financials solutions (e.g., General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable). 

  • Testing and Validation: Develop and execute comprehensive test scenarios and scripts (including Unit Testing, System Integration Testing, and User Acceptance Testing) to validate business use cases and ensure the solution functions as designed. 

  • Support and Troubleshooting: Provide functional support, including troubleshooting configuration issues, file processing failures, and other system problems. Conduct root cause analysis for production issues and research complex data to resolve problems. 

  • Documentation and Training: Prepare and maintain comprehensive process documentation, functional specifications, system configuration documents, and user guides. Develop and deliver training materials and sessions to end-users. 

  • Advisory and Best Practices: Advise clients on best practices related to financial accounting, reporting, and utilizing AHCS features to maximize business value and ensure compliance with accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP). 

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For: 

Qualifications and Experience 

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, or a related field. A CA, CPA, or equivalent finance qualification is often a strong advantage. 

  • Experience: 

  • Significant hands-on experience in implementing, configuring, or supporting Oracle Accounting Hub Cloud Service (AHCS) or Financial Accounting Hub (FAH). 5-10 Years. 

  • Experience with Oracle ERP Cloud (Financials), especially General Ledger (GL), is highly desirable. 

  • Prior experience in large-scale system integration projects, particularly with multi-source system integration and data transformation for centralized accounting. 

  • Experience with other relevant Oracle technologies like Oracle AIA (Application Integration Architecture) is a plus. 

  • Functional Expertise: 

  • Strong understanding of financial accounting principles, especially the Record to Report (R2R) process. 

  • Deep knowledge of subledger accounting (SLA) concepts, journal generation, and financial reporting requirements.

  • Analytical Skills: Excellent business analysis skills with the proven ability to translate complex challenges and business requirements into technical and functional solutions. 

  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with both technical teams and business/C-level stakeholders. 

  • Consulting Skills: Demonstrated ability to manage client expectations, lead workshops, and drive project deliverables independently. 

  • Problem-Solving: Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment. 

  • Technical Familiarity (Desirable): Basic familiarity with SQL, data models, or integration tools is beneficial for analysis and troubleshooting.
