Job Description

As the Finance manager, you will provide direction and management for the SPPC5 Sadawi PV project from a financial management perspective, developing and overseeing the implementation of plans and financial models to meet the long and short term financial requirements in an optimal economic manner and in line with sound financial, accounting and risk management practices thus ensuring optimization of asset value and return to shareholders.

Responsibilities not limited to:

  • Initiate and direct the formulation and implementation of financial policies and accounting procedures in consultation with the Senior management.
  • Provide financial and accounting control, ensuring the integrity of internal control and accounting information in compliance with IFRS and maintaining the integrity of the GL, payables, receivables, bank reconciliations and Oracle data and information.
  • Develop/amend, in consultation with the Senior management, and obtain approval on corporate policies and procedures governing collections, receipts, custody, control and disbursement of funds and securities, choice and use of depositories and extension of credit and ensure implementation of and compliance with such corporate policies and procedures.
  • Monitor the preparation, review and submission of the proposed annual budget, in consultation with the Senior management, and manage the preparation of appropriate management information reports related to performance, compliance, issues and actions relating to tax, insurance, budget, internal control and risk management and present such management information reports to the Board.
  • Conduct on-going reviews on the financial performance of various departments/sections and investigate and report the deviations from the stated budgets and operational plans.
  • Assist the process of approval of the O&M budget for the operating asset by analyzing and commenting on the key drivers.
  • Lead and develop the team, ensure employee engagement and competence, and manage change.

Qualifications

  • Degree qualified in business/finance or related field. Masters degree would be an asset.
  • Chartered accounting experience is valuable for this role. 
  • At least 10 years of relevant and solid experience in project finance and financial modelling & analysis including experience in investment appraisals, feasibility studies and due diligence assignments in a relevant or related sector.
  • Energy sector experience preferred.
  • Strong financial modelling and analytical skills.
  • Familiarity with VAT regulations in general and the local regulations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Arabic.
