Job Description

Supporting the Pastor of Care and Recovery at an executive level by ensuring the value of doing ministry “with” the communities we serve, the Care and Recover Director: 

  • Collaborates with the Care & Recovery Pastor in planning, developing, launching, and directing new care ministries aimed toward engaging the needs of Mariners Church and the community at large.
  • Directly manages all community support environments, ensuring optimum use of facilities and resources while maintaining alignment with Mariners Church mission, values, and vision. 
  • Supports the Care and Recovery Pastor in overseeing volunteer recruitment, training and development as they pursue and express the vision of Mariners Church. 
  • Directs Care and Recovery Ministry volunteer leaders, helping them manage their programs, projects, and people. Engages with volunteer leader teams for planning and strategy. 
  • Coordinates intake of both volunteers and church congregants seeking care. 
  • Supports the Pastor of Care & Recovery in his/her efforts to raise awareness of the overall ministry church wide and within the surrounding community by executing communications plans.
  • Collaborates with the Pastor of Care Ministry to ensure effective and efficient management throughout all Mariners Care & Recovery Ministries. 
  • Collaborates with Discipleship and other Mariners Ministry teams at large with various opportunities and responsibilities as they arise.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or a minimum of 3 years experience working in a church setting.
  • Masters degree in human services (i.e. MSW, Public Health, Counseling) preferred or equivalent work experience.
  • Preferred 3 years experience in a leadership role.
  • Demonstrates strong and growing walk with Christ
  • Excellent organizational skills and efficient work capacity.
  • Ability to be creative and innovative.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal & conflict resolution skills
  • Proven experience handling details and complex schedules
  • Experience establishing and motivating volunteer teams
  • Excellent interpersonal skills working with staff and volunteers
  • Strong desire to complete tasks within deadlines
  • Competent in Google Office
