Job Description
Join Marie Curie and help people living with a terminal illness receive expert care in the comfort of their own homes. As a Healthcare Assistant, you'll be part of a supportive multidisciplinary team, delivering compassionate, person-centred care when it matters most.
Your duties will include monitoring and maintaining patients' skin integrity and personal hygiene, supporting their nutritional needs, ensuring they get adequate rest and sleep, and assisting with mobility. You will also help keep the care environment clean and organised and provide essential support in symptom management.
You will demonstrate empathetic and professional communication with patients and their significant others, consistently providing high-quality personal care and support to enhance overall wellbeing.
Contract: Permanent
Working pattern: Monday to Sunday, including bank holidays
Shift pattern: Shifts rostered between 7:30am and 8:00pm
Salary: £25,272 per annum
Base: Community-based across the West Midlands, with a hospice base. The postholder will primarily provide care in peoples’ own homes, with occasional support on the inpatient unit.

- Provide personal care and support to patients in their own homes
- Support mobility, nutrition, comfort and wellbeing
- Monitor and report changes in patients' conditions
- Work closely with families and healthcare professionals
- Promote dignity, independence and quality of life
What we are looking for
- Experience in a health or social care setting
- Compassionate, person-centred approach
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently in the community
- Driving licence and access to a vehicle essential
- NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (desirable)
