We are looking for an experienced and motivated Retail District Manager to lead and continuously develop a successful portfolio of 22 Marie Curie stores, spanning across Wales and the West. You will be responsible for delivering a strong commercial performance, with demonstrable experience of managing large retail areas including H&S audit compliance and people management.
This is a varied and rewarding role where you will work closely with Store Managers to drive income, develop high-performing teams, maximise donations, and ensure operational excellence across your district. You will be key in providing guidance, support and objective setting to ensure the Retail strategy, priorities and KPI’s are achieved alongside sales and profit targets.

Job Description
You will be responsible for
- Maximising all income opportunities by coaching and developing Store Managers to take ownership of their store performance, be responsible for the delivery of KPI results and the need to continually improve performance
- Supporting shop staff in the development of initiatives for increasing ‘over the door’ donations of goods to shops. Effectively support the employed driver and the van, to ensure sufficient levels of stock for distribution throughout the area to drive donated goods income and achieve maximum profitability
- Reviewing store visual & operating standards in consistent critical manner across the District, and follow up on all objectives using the structured Store visit report, within the agreed store visit frequency cycle
- Ensuring that all staff and volunteers are aware of their health and safety responsibilities and that all health and safety procedures are adhered to. Carrying out necessary training and complete risk assessments/resolving any issues
Key criteria
- Information analysis (including financial statistics and retail KPIs)
- Good understanding of Basic IT packages i.e. E-mails, Word, Excel
- Excellent demonstrable literacy and numeracy skills, both written and verbal
- Retail branch/area management experience directly responsible for or supporting multi-sites
- Merchandising and space management
- Management and development of multiple income generators such as eBay Marketplace
- Experience in recruiting, training, leading and motivating individuals/teams
- A valid driving license
