Job Description
Lead | Support | Influence | Make every guest experience unforgettable
Due to an internal promotion, a rare opportunity has become available for an experienced hospitality or tourism leader to join our award-winning team as Assistant Manager at NRMA Treasure Island Holiday Resort on the Gold Coast.
Working closely with the General Manager, you'll play a critical role in the day-to-day leadership of the resort, supporting our department leaders and helping deliver exceptional experiences for thousands of guests who holiday with us each year.
This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership role that offers exposure across all facets of resort operations while providing the opportunity to develop your career within one of Australia's most trusted travel and tourism brands.
What you will do:
As Assistant Manager, you'll partner with the General Manager to lead resort operations across multiple departments, including:
- Guest Services
- Guest Experience
- Food & Beverage
- Grounds & Maintenance
- Housekeeping
You'll provide leadership support to our Heads of Department, help drive operational excellence, and ensure we're consistently delivering memorable guest experiences and a great workplace culture for our teams. While there is no requirement to live onsite, occasional after-hours support may be required when the General Manager is on leave, with onsite accommodation available during these periods.
In addition, you'll act as the primary contact point for Harbourside Gardens, our neighbouring over-50s lifestyle village comprising 101 owner-occupied homes. No two days are the same. Whether you're coaching leaders, assisting with rostering and budgets, resolving guest concerns, supporting a busy reception period, helping the food and beverage team, or pitching in with housekeeping when required, you'll be a hands-on leader who leads by example.
What you will bring:
We're looking for an experienced hospitality leader who thrives in a fast-paced operational environment and genuinely enjoys supporting both guests and teams.
You are someone who:
- Leads from the front and isn't afraid to roll up your sleeves
- Builds strong relationships with guests and team members
- Remains calm and solutions-focused when challenges arise
- Takes pride in creating great guest experiences
- Supports, develops and empowers others
- Brings positive energy and contributes to a strong workplace culture
You will have:
- Leadership experience in hospitality, tourism, food & beverage, guest services, hotel, resort or holiday park operations
- Experience managing guest and employee issues with professionalism and confidence
- Rostering and workforce planning experience
- A current Blue Card, First Aid and CPR
- Financial acumen, including budgeting, revenue management and cost control understanding
- Sound knowledge of workplace health and safety practices
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- A collaborative, hands-on approach to leadership
- Flexibility to work weekends as part of a rotating roster (for example Sunday to Thursday)
