Job Description

The Senior Associate Director, IT, Data Modelling and Reporting will report to IT Head of Reporting & Analytics, and work closely with leadership in IT, Operations and Product Management team to elevate firm data modelling and reporting & analytics capability on MUFG Data Hub, including but not limited to:

  • Data Modelling & Architecture: Design and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models for investment accounting, focusing on transactional, holding, and valuation data (Investran, Geneva, Mantra, Yardi).
  • System Integration Support: Work closely with Data Engineering team to Map data from varied systems into a standardized data model, ensuring structural integrity and handling complex public market data and non-standardized private market data.
  • Accounting Systems Expertise: Work closely with platforms like Investran or Geneva to understand GL structures, capital calls, distributions, and performance calculations to build robust data structures.
  • Performance & Reporting Models: Create models optimized for portfolio analytics, performance attribution, and investor reporting.
  • SQL Optimization: Develop complex SQL queries and support ETL processes, ensuring high-performance data loading and transformation.
  • Data Governance: Define data definitions, lineage, and metadata standards to ensure data quality and auditability.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in data modelling and reporting; experience in financial services, with a focus on investment management, private equity / Hedge funds is preferred.
  • 3+ years of leadership experience in a reporting and analytics role.
  • Proficiency in programming languages or tools like SQL, Python or R.
  • Experience on Databricks, Snowflake or Amazon Redshift (AWS) etc cloud data platforms.
  • Experience of working on various investment reporting systems like Geneva, Mantra, Investran, Yardi etc.
  • Familiar with data visualization tools (PowerBI, Tableau).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to present complex data to non-technical audience.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, results driven environment.
