Job Description
The Front Desk Attendant plays a crucial role in ensuring smooth operations at the front desk. The primary responsibility is to serve couriers, handle incoming cheques, manage in and out Bills of lading, and assist customers with their requests. The individual must be detail-oriented, organized, and possess excellent communication skills to effectively manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve Couriers: Attend to the front desk to assist couriers when they pick up documents.
- Cheque Management: Ensure all cheques received at the counter are promptly entered into our system and handed over to Accounting.
- Import Documentation: Ensure timely notation of any original bills of lading received for import, allowing the department to run accurate reports.
- Export Documentation: Scan the export bills of lading and ensure they are processed correctly.
- Customs Deadlines: Ensure all Customs deadlines are met to maintain compliance.
- Customer Requests: Respond to miscellaneous customer requests via email or telephone with a high level of professionalism and efficiency.
- Export Docs Cycle Training: Train on the export docs cycle to be able to assist the export team when required.
Qualifications
All MSC Canada employees are expected to exhibit the MSC Values, striving to drive customer centric results in all interactions with colleagues and customers alike.
- 2-year experience in a customer service environment.
- Documentation knowledge an asset.
- Bilingual written and spoken (French / English).
- Proficient in Microsoft applications.
- Additional languages an asset.
