Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager, Financial Reporting to join our finance team. This role is critical in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial reporting processes. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing consolidated and non-consolidated P&L and balance sheet information, leading general accounting duties, and assisting in the preparation of internal and external financial reports. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with senior management and contribute to the financial health and strategic direction of the company.
Responsibilities
- Prepare consolidated and non-consolidated P&L and balance sheet information, including relevant supporting schedules on a monthly and quarterly basis.
- Lead the preparation of monthly and quarterly internal financial reporting packages presented to senior management.
- Oversee general accounting duties, including the preparation of monthly journal entries and accruals.
- Conduct monthly calculations and reconciliations for key accounts.
- Assist in accounting research, issue resolution, and disclosure implications of significant transactions, including preparing technical position papers in accordance with IFRS.
- Develop and review annual plans and forecasts for specific departments.
- Facilitate the preparation of variance analysis comparing actual results to plan.
- Collaborate with various lines of business and teams to review significant account variances and gather explanations.
- Prepare annual consolidated financial statements and supporting information for notes.
- Lead the coordination of external auditor requests.
- Coordinate with business stakeholders to prepare annual corporate insurance renewal forms.
- Management of corporate insurance portfolio, ensuring comprehensive coverage, risk mitigation, and cost-effectiveness.
- Lead the capital projects reporting process, including analysis, and presentation to ensure transparency and accuracy.
- Facilitating quarterly Capital Committee meetings by coordinating agendas to drive informed decision-making and optimize resource allocation.
- Participate in and lead special projects as required.
Qualifications

- Postgraduate degree or diploma in Business Administration, Finance, Commerce, or equivalent experience in accounting.
- Experience in an accounting firm and previous audit experience preferred.
- Completion of or current enrollment in a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.
- Demonstrated results orientation and attention to detail with a commitment to best practices and continuous improvement.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other departments and external partners. Initiative, independence, and the capacity to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to lead, manage, and prioritize work activities and inputs efficiently.
- Proficient in IFRS, including detailed knowledge of IFRS 15 and IFRS 16.
- Quick learner of new digital applications, with experience in Oracle Cloud ERP, Workiva (WDesk), and Power BI considered an asset.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, including VBA and macros.
