Job Description

MLSE Digital Labs is seeking a highly motivated Integration Engineer to join the Digital Labs team with a focus on APIs. The Integrations Engineer will be primarily working on API development and management, and whom will be reporting to the Engineering Manager for Data.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deploy API solutions using modern DevOps practices and security standards.
  • Work on building data ingestion pipelines to ingest data from API and/or Streams.
  • Utilize programming language skills to code the required data transformations.
  • Develop the test automation solutions for API testing.
  • Establish standards and maintain a department-wide body of knowledge on API engineering.
  • Participates in planning, definition, and high-level design of the solution and exploration of solution alternatives.
  • Partners with other teams like infrastructure and application engineering to define metadata layers, technical strategy, and efficient integration within existing landscape.
  • Provides high-level sizing estimates of new development work.

Qualifications:

  • Experience working with data and APIs from business systems, such as POS, ERP, CRM applications.
  • Hardworking advocate of security standard methodologies and micro-service architecture.
  • Eager to learn and build both technical and analytical skills.
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently and balance multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Provides input into the ongoing improvement of data integration layer based on standard integration methodologies and approaches.
  • Astute on new and emerging technologies and technical approaches.
  • Knowledge of software engineering practices for SDLC, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies.
  • Proven ability to take a project from scoping requirements through to actual launch of project.
  • Proven track record to develop new approaches to complex design problems.
  • Ability to prioritize, track and handle work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Technical Qualifications:

  • Experience using source control technology such as GitHub.
  • Knowledge of Web Services, XML technologies, SOA, and Enterprise Integration Patterns.
  • Competent understanding of RESTful, SOAP, GraphQL, WebSocket services.
  • Experience with relational SQL databases, such as MSSQL, and PostgreSQL.
  • Strong Software Engineering experience with proficiency in at least one of the following programming languages: Java, JavaScript, Golang, C#.
  • Experience with building data ingestion pipelines both real-time and batch using standard methodologies.
  • Experience with building streaming ingestion pipeline using Kafka streams, or others.
  • Proficiency in crafting and implementing systems in Azure and AWS.
  • Informatica Cloud Platform or similar would be an asset.
  • Azure API Management or similar.
  • CI/CD orchestration tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Bamboo, Chef, Maven or similar.
  • Experience with Spring Boot, Docker and Kubernetes/OpenShift.
