Job Description
As an FSD Portfolio Management Expert, you will support the strategic and operational development of METRO’s international Food Service Distribution (FSD) business. In this role, you will:
- Support FSD management in developing and translating strategic priorities into actionable workstreams.
- Conduct performance analyses of selected FSD companies and prepare insights for review meetings.
- Contribute to business case preparation for investment decisions and support coordination with relevant stakeholders.
- Facilitate knowledge sharing and best-practice exchange across FSD companies and central functions.
- Support synergy identification, analysis, and tracking across the FSD portfolio.
- Assist in FSD-related M&A workstreams, including data analysis and preparation of due diligence materials.
- Contribute analytical input for financial models in collaboration with internal experts.
- Support post-merger integration activities by coordinating tasks and tracking progress.
- Support digital transformation initiatives by analysing processes and helping improve tools and reporting frameworks.
- Coordinate communication and alignment between assigned FSD companies and METRO functions.
- Prepare working-level project updates and presentations for internal stakeholders.
Qualifications
- 2–4 years of experience in strategy, corporate development, consulting, finance, or similar analytical roles.
- Strong academic background in business administration, economics, finance, or related fields (top 10%)
- Experience in supporting strategic planning or analytical projects.
- Solid understanding of financial statements and commercial drivers.
- Ability to work in cross-functional and international setups with multiple stakeholders.
- Structured, reliable, and proactive working style with strong analytical skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
- Good communication and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with AI tools is an advantage.
- Knowledge of the foodservice industry is a plus.
