Job Description

The purpose of the role is to support the development and deployment of supplier master data strategy thereby enhancing METRO procurement efficiency by enable faster supplier onboarding, ensuring data availability, quality, and mitigating risks.

a. Data Governance:

  • Support SAP MDG-Supplier and METRO Link supplier portal development and implementation projects across METRO Business Units.
  • Assist in the development, adaptation, and implementation of corporate supplier master data standards.
  • Maintain documentation of master data processes/workflows, data taxonomies/catalogs, develop requirement specifications.

b. Data Quality Management:

  • Provide guidance on data quality management, enhance data quality standards, conduct data profiling, and define new data quality rules and metrics.
  • Monitor data quality in finance (SAP ECC/S4) and commercial (Oracle) systems of METRO. Identify errors, coordinate corrective actions with responsible METRO Business Units and IT service providers.

c. Stakeholders Management:

  • Collaborate with an international group of data stewards and specialists from all METRO Business Units to understand their data requirements and challenges.
  • Liaise with METRO Corporate commercial and financial functions on supplier master data topics.
  • Provide guidance to IT service providers on supplier master data standards, procedures, and best practices.

Qualifications

  • University degree of economics, business informatics, information technology or equivalent job experience.
  • 3-5 years relevant experience in Master Data Management in an international, distributed environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of data governance, data management, data quality management as well as the conception and implementation of data strategies.
  • Experience with SAP ECC, S/4HANA or MDG in terms of master data management.
  • Attention to Detail: a meticulous approach to data management to ensure accuracy and completeness of master data record
  • Communication Skills: Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams
  • Time Management: Efficiently managing multiple data-related tasks and projects, prioritizing work to meet deadlines.
  • Analytical Thinking: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify data issues, root causes, and implement appropriate solutions.
  • Proactivity: High level of own initiative and assertiveness to drive change and engagement.
  • Very good written and spoken German and English language skills.
