Job Description

Role Purpose

The role supports the Treasury function with a strong focus on FX and interest-rate risk management, cash investments and cash-pooling structures. It is a strategic risk-management role rather than a dealer or trader position, with responsibility for defining and managing exposures, developing natural and financial hedging strategies, strengthening governance, and optimizing execution. The role evaluates competing business and financial KPIs and develops appropriate measures to improve the Group-wide hedging program. It also leads the professionalization of cash investments to improve the risk-return profile and develops advanced cash-pooling solutions. The position contributes to the optimization of Group liquidity and the continuous improvement of treasury processes, controls and systems.

Essential responsibilities

FX and IR Risk Management

  • Develop and maintain the Group-wide FX and IR risk management framework and related Treasury Policy requirements, covering exposure definitions, risk ownership, governance, approval authorities, controls, reporting and escalation.
  • Identify, quantify and monitor Group interest-rate exposures and develop appropriate risk-management strategies, including fixed-versus-floating funding analysis, sensitivity reporting and recommendations for the use of interest-rate derivatives.
  • Establish consistent methodologies to identify, classify, quantify and forecast booked and anticipated FX exposures, including transactional, economic and financial exposures arising from dividends, shareholder loans, intercompany funding, acquisitions, investments, OPEX and CAPEX.
  • Define and implement Group-wide hedging strategies incorporating exposure and KPI definitions, natural hedging opportunities, risk appetite and business objectives, with a primary focus on protecting economic cash flows.
  • Own Group FX risk reporting and provide senior management with exposure analytics, sensitivities, hedge-performance assessments, market insights, recommendations and timely escalation of material risks.
  • Act as the central FX risk business partner for Divisions, Business Units and the commercial organization, coordinating with Treasury Operations, Corporate Finance, Accounting and Controlling.
  • Ensure that hedging activities comply with approved mandates, documentation standards and governance requirements.

Cash Management

  • Develop and maintain the Group cash-investment framework, covering eligible instruments, counterparty and concentration limits, risk-return optimization, product adoption, execution processes and straight-through processing.
  • Design, implement, and maintain cash management strategies, including physical and notional cash pooling structures and OBO solutions.
  • Support execution of short‑term funding, internal financing, and intercompany cash movements.
  • Actively manage bank relationships in relation to cash management services and account structures.
  • Contribute to optimization of bank fees, balances, and operational efficiency.

Systems & Process Development

  • Own and continuously improve the end-to-end FX workflow and lifecycle across TMS, ETRM, trading and reporting platforms, including automation, internalization, interfaces, controls, banking solutions and cost-efficient execution channels.
  • Act as functional owner and key user for treasury systems supporting FX, IR and cash management, including FIS Integrity.
  • Ensure data quality, accuracy, and consistency across treasury systems.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or Business Administration
  • Proven experience in corporate treasury, preferably with exposure to both front and middle office activities.
  • 5-10 years of Treasury, FX Risk Management, Commodity Risk Management and/or Corporate Finance experience from commodity trading, energy or industrial environments.
  • Proven ability to act as a business partner to the commercial organization, developing hedging and execution solutions that support business objectives and create competitive advantages.
  • Deep understanding of FX derivatives (forwards, swaps, NDFs, options, cross-currency swaps).
  • Strong understanding of economic versus accounting FX risk.
  • Experience with treasury systems and exposure reporting.
  • Ability to translate complex risk topics into clear management recommendations.
  • Hands-on experience in cash management and cash-pooling structures within a multi-entity international environment.

Technical Skills

  • Advanced Excel skills (financial modeling, cash forecasting, data analysis, automation).
  • Strong IT affinity and ability to work with treasury systems and interfaces.
  • Solid understanding of cash management products, bank account structures, and liquidity tools.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and banking platforms is an advantage.
