Job Description

  • Support balancing market design change implementations with regards to business processes and IT development
  • Build renewable production forecasts in with different lead times
  • Conduct market analysis, price forecasting, and generate decision making materials / commercial strategy suggestions
  • Manage local STS stakeholders in both infrastructure and commercial product development
  • Automate existing operational and analytical processes
  • Develop business cases and commercial development strategies
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements 
  • Collaborate with forecasting and analytics teams to refine price models and market predictions.
  • Guide the system development and cooperation with other functional teams from the commercial angle, such as interconnected forecasting systems (meteorology, network congestions, system state, imbalance market analysis), algorithmic trading, commercial logic of aggregators, etc.

Qualifications

  • Degree in a quantitative discipline (mathematics, physics, engineering)
  • 3+ years of professional experience in the Hungarian power market
  • Understanding of Hungary’s and the regional power market regulations and experience with aggregation
  • Experience in algorithmic optimization programs
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills with the ability to manage complexity
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, capable of owning and managing development projects or their modules
  • Structured, solution-oriented and analytical approach to problem-solving
  • Strong analytical skills and a preference for proficiency in tools like Python, R, BI or SQL for data analysis and forecasting
  • Knowledge of the upcoming regulatory changes (MARI, PICASSO)
  • Fluent in English and Hungarian language skills one additional language preferred
