MET Energy Trading Bulgaria EAD (METBG) was established in 2017 to represent MET Group in South Eastern European natural gas and energy markets. METBG focuses on the purchase and sale of electricity and natural gas to retail and wholesale customers in South Eastern Europe, through cross-border transactions and close corporation with other MET subsidiaries in the region.
Now, we are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented "Power Operations Specialist" to join our team. This role is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operational activities related to electricity trading and portfolio management. The successful candidate will prepare schedules, maintain operational data, generate reports, and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth and efficient market operations.
Job Description
- Prepare, submit, and maintain electricity delivery schedules
- Monitor and validate operational and market data
- Produce daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports and analyses
- Track schedule execution and investigating discrepancies or deviations
- Support nomination, balancing, and settlement processes
- Coordinate with transmission system operators, power exchanges, balancing responsible parties, and other market participants
- Maintain and update operational databases and systems
- Assist in process optimization and automation initiatives
- Ensure timely and accurate execution of operational activities in compliance with market rules and internal procedures
- Standard working hours during weekdays
- Participation in a rotating weekend day-shift schedule as part of the operations team coverage
- Work-life balance is supported through flexible working hours and compensatory time off for weekend shifts
Qualifications
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work accurately under time pressure
- Good command of English, both written and spoken
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team
- Previous experience in the energy sector, power trading, or energy operations
- Understanding of electricity markets, scheduling, balancing, and settlement processes
- Familiarity with energy trading and risk management (ETRM) systems
