Company Description

MET International AG (METI) was established in 2010 in order to consolidate and develop MET Group’s international natural gas sales and purchase portfolio, as well as to establish a trading arm for commodity lines. 

METI is responsible for providing highly competitive supply structures to its gas and power sales affiliates, optimizing its power generation assets, managing the LNG portfolio, and trading around international positions.

Job Description

  • Lead origination and management of LNG mid to long-term contracts from term sheets to execution in the specified region (including negotiating and contracting terms in coordination with external and internal teams)
  • Manage mid/long-term contracts (including ADP coordination with internal and external stakeholders, potential arbitration disputes, price reviews) once the deal is executed and in place
  • Support structuring of related hedges/trades and capacity positions with LNG physical and financial trading internal teams
  • Development of new LNG business relationships and Relationship management across the focus area

Qualifications

  • At least a degree-level qualification or higher in a numerical subject (e.g. mathematics/economics/ physics/engineering, or similar)
  • Experience in the LNG trading business globally, and in particular in the area of origination and business development, and/or origination for 5-15 years
  • Strong network within the LNG industry
  • Experience in drafting, negotiating and executing mid/long-term LNG contracts
  • Geographical focus shall be primarily the Atlantic region (West of Suez), US origination experience preferred
  • Excellent problem-solving ability
  • Strong attention to detail, especially when it comes to contract management and modelling
  • Independent thinker, creative in finding alternative solutions
  • Requires close/daily coordination with internal colleagues & other MET Group subsidiaries
  • Shows a desire to improve and innovate in analytical approaches/methodologies continually
