Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Power Wholesale Operation Specialist to join our dynamic team in Budapest, Hungary. In this role, you will be instrumental in supporting the day-to-day operations of our power wholesale team, managing critical market transactions, and ensuring seamless coordination across multiple departments. You will play a key role in maintaining operational excellence while supporting our financial and compliance objectives in the energy market.

  • Support the power wholesale team and coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth execution of market mandates
  • Prepare market orders and manage organizational contracts, including conducting inter-departmental consultations, post-execution administration, and handling associated contractual collateral requirements
  • Record and reconcile electricity and energy attribute trading transactions with precision and accuracy
  • Monitor, verify, and reconcile financial hedging operations to ensure compliance with established protocols
  • Manage balance group settlements and reconciliations in accordance with regulatory requirements
  • Review incoming invoices against active contracts, validate billing accuracy, and provide reliable billing data to the finance department
  • Support monthly financial closing activities by delivering required data and reports to the finance team within established timelines
  • Prepare operational reports and participate in industry data reporting obligations (MEKH, KSH, REMIT, and other regulatory bodies)
  • Identify process improvements and collaborate with stakeholders to enhance operational efficiency and transparency

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in economics, finance, business administration, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in power wholesale operations, energy trading, or similar operational roles
  • Solid knowledge of the energy industry, including wholesale market dynamics and regulatory frameworks
  • Hungarian as a mother tounge and intermediate English language proficiency (minimum)
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel (pivot tables, data analysis, complex formulas)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a detail-oriented mindset
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with diverse teams
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • You are familiar with financial reconciliation, hedging operations, and billing processes
  • Knowledge of regulatory reporting requirements and compliance standards in the energy sector
  • Proficiency with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems is preferred
