Job Description
The Energy Portfolio Manager will be responsible for the marketing of electricity generated from all renewables power plants of MET Group. This includes dealing with internal and external counterparties, with the view to maximize revenue stream and minimise the balancing/ flexibility risk associated to the generation portfolio.
The employee will manage a dedicated solar and wind renewables power plant portfolio located in Hungary, Bulgaria, Spain, Italy, Poland, Romania and potentially in further European countries. The Portfolio Manager will report directly to the Director of Renewables Asset Management.
The Energy Portfolio Manager's key responsibilities will be:
- Setting up the energy portfolio management strategy for renewables assets in operation. This includes, but not limited to (a) analysis of the local markets, (b) description and analysis of different marketing strategies, (c) identification of potential counterparties and (d) implementation plan.
- Setting up energy portfolio management processes, risk management measures, policies on position management.
- Tendering and management of power offtake, balancing agreements and sales contracts for guarantees of origin.
- Negotiation of corporate PPAs with large industrial players.
- Setting up and operating reporting activity for each asset on the fulfilment of energy management related KPIs.
- Managing the production forecasting related contracts, including regular monitoring, back testing and tendering activity.
- Actively managing short and long term positions with the associated hedges with a view to minimise the balancing/flexibility risk associated with the assets in the portfolio.
- Instructing MET trading floor on executing market orders.
- Actively managing the relationship with the existing and potential power offtakers, balancing partners, regulatory bodies and TSOs.
- Monitoring local and EU level energy related rules and regulations.
- Supporting the Development and Origination teams in modelling energy related revenues and costs for green field or operational assets in different countries.
Qualifications
- College/ university degree in Engineering and/ or Economics,
- 3+ years experience in the energy industry in project/ portfolio management/ energy trading,
- Experience in managing structured products,

- Fluent English is required,
- Any additional language knowledge (e.g. Spanish, Italian, German or other European language) is an advantage.
