Job Description

As Luxury Escapes continues to grow, so does the breadth and complexity of the technology that supports it. Our IT Operations team is expanding, and we’re looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to bring deep technical expertise across identity, infrastructure and security.

Reporting to the Associate Director of IT Operations, you’ll be a key technical contributor, the person we lean on for complex identity and access challenges, network infrastructure delivery and hands-on compliance work. You’ll work closely with the IT Operations Team Leader and alongside junior team members, bringing the technical depth that strengthens the whole team’s capabilities.

If you enjoy solving real problems, building reliable systems, and being the go-to technical expert in the room, this is a great opportunity to grow your career in a fast-moving travel tech company.

Luxury Escapes is an in-person company. We work and collaborate together, face to face in our Barangaroo office 5 days a week.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead the implementation and ongoing management of identity and access management using Microsoft Entra ID, including SCIM provisioning, SSO configuration, RBAC frameworks, and user lifecycle automation.

  • Deliver network infrastructure projects including design, firewall management, network security and site connectivity across our Sydney and Melbourne offices.

  • Implement technical controls and support audit readiness as part of our ISO 27001:2022 compliance program.

  • Manage and maintain cloud infrastructure across AWS, Azure and GCP, supporting engineering teams with secure and well-governed environments.

  • Administer endpoint management across macOS (Jamf Pro) and Windows (Intune) fleets, ensuring a secure and seamless employee experience.

  • Investigate and resolve complex cross-system issues, identify root causes, and implement improvements that prevent recurrence.

  • Build and maintain automation for provisioning, identity lifecycle and infrastructure tasks to improve operational efficiency.

  • Coordinate with technology vendors and service partners on implementation, support and ongoing service delivery, ensuring SLAs are met, and recommendations are well-informed.

  • Provide technical guidance to junior team members through documentation, knowledge sharing, and hands-on mentoring.

Qualifications

What we are looking for:

Technical depth:

  • Strong experience with Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD); conditional access, automated provisioning, SSO and privileged identity management.

  • Solid network infrastructure skills. Wi-Fi design, firewall management, VPN configuration, and network security.

  • Hands-on experience across multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) with a focus on access governance and security.

  • Familiarity with endpoint management platforms.

  • Practical experience with compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001 or SOC 2.

How you work:

  • You communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences, and you’re comfortable providing recommendations backed by solid analysis.

  • You enjoy lifting the people around you, whether that’s mentoring a junior, sharing knowledge, or raising the technical bar through good documentation and review.

  • You stay calm and structured under pressure, particularly during incidents when clear thinking matters most.

  • You take ownership end-to-end. You deliver reliably, flag risks early, and hold yourself to a high standard with minimal oversight.

  • You’re proactive about identifying problems before they escalate, and you balance thoroughness with pragmatism.

We value experience and practical know-how over certifications. If you’ve built and run these systems in the real world, we want to hear from you.
