Job Description

Louis Dreyfus Company is seeking an Assistant Ginner to join our team in Mungindi. In this role, you will be supported, mentored, and trained by experienced teammates and the Site Manager while becoming part of the local community and developing valuable long-term skills. As an Assistant Ginner, you will play a key role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and effective operation of all areas under your responsibility. This is an excellent opportunity to grow your career within a unique blend of manufacturing, mechanical, and agricultural work in Mungindi.

Key responsibilities will be but not limited to:

  • Gin operation and safety 
  • Assist in maintaining the physical appearance of the gin site 
  • Maintenance – constantly monitor and maintain machinery and equipment to the highest standard to facilitate continuity of production and quality. 
  • Employee supervision 
  • Work permits - Assist ginner and site management with ensuring work permits are completed for all high-risk activity 

Qualifications

Essential skills 

  • Mechanical experience or trade background 
  • Ability to identify/control weaknesses in process and implement best practices 
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently takes initiative and challenges when required 
  • Good work ethic and team player 
  • Ability and willingness to interact effectively with all levels of employees and external stakeholders 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with attention to detail and accuracy 

Desired but not essential skills 

  • Prior experience supervising staff in a maintenance/production environment 
  • Sound computer skills
