Job Description

The Supply Chain Manager will establish and lead a cost-competitive, high-performing India supply base to support global heavy equipment manufacturing and aftermarket operations. This role is responsible for developing a localized supplier network that meets export standards, drives cost efficiency, and supports both OEM and service parts production. The successful candidate will be a strategic sourcing expert with strong leadership and supplier management experience in the heavy equipment industry.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Supply Base Development
•    Establish and qualify a robust, cost-competitive India-based supplier network capable of meeting heavy equipment OEM export standards.
•    Oversee global sourcing projects in coordination and through the strategic sourcing team and process.
•    In tight coordination with quality localize production of key mechanical, hydraulic, and fabricated components to support global builds and aftermarket service parts.
•    Lead supplier onboarding, technical capability assessments, and compliance audits to ensure readiness for global programs.

Supplier Management & Negotiation
•    Oversee commercial negotiations with turnkey and component suppliers to achieve cost, quality, and delivery objectives.
•    Build and sustain long-term supplier partnerships through a structured Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) framework.
•    Monitor supplier performance metrics (OTD, PPM, cost savings, lead times) and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
•    Identify supply chain risks and implement mitigation strategies to protect continuity of supply and cost competitiveness.

Equipment Project Build Leadership
•    Ensure our budgets, timelines, and projects are set up for success by developing sourcing plans prior to award using our ProLaunch 85 process.  
•    Lead sourcing and procurement activities for India-based build projects, ensuring materials and components are delivered on time, to specification, and within budget.
•    Collaborate with engineering, operations, and logistics to align sourcing plans with production and schedules.

Team Leadership & Development
•    Recruit, develop, and manage a high-performing local supply chain team.
•    Foster a culture of accountability, problem-solving, and operational excellence.
•    Support the buyers by performing aftermarket support RFQs and escalations
•    Implement global standards and leadership work in purchasing and sourcing.
•    Serve as the India Supply Chain Leader, coordinating all central supply chain activities with the entire site.
•    Work with the global teams to optimize inventory, forecast and deliver results to inventory targets
•    Uphold Loram ICAR values and policies, and drive a culture of safety into every aspect of what we do

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Supply chain Management, business, engineering, finance, or related field

 

Experience:

  • Minimum 8–10 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management within the heavy equipment or industrial manufacturing sector.
  • Demonstrated success in supplier development, cost reduction, and export-oriented supply base creation in India.
  • Proven leadership ability managing cross-functional, multicultural teams.
  • Strong understanding of fabrication, machining, hydraulics, castings, and component supply chains.
  • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems, supplier scorecards, and cost analysis tools.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

  • CPM/CPSM/APICS/MBA/Engineering certification or other related licenses
