Job Description
We are seeking an experienced SQL Server Database Administrator who has a successful track record setting up, maintaining, and supporting multiple SQL Server databases in a high availability, high transaction environment. The role will also include ensuring top performance for these systems and troubleshooting customer issues. You will also have the opportunity to make product development contributions working with a strong, seasoned Software Development team.
This role is open to working remotely in the US, Canada, or EMEA.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure high availability and backup of production databases.
- Installation, provisioning, and configuration of new databases.
- Performance diagnosis and tuning.
- Provide support for issue diagnosis and problem resolution.
- Be the subject matter expert on database development and tuning best practices.
Qualifications
- 5+ Years of SQL Server Database Administration.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server, SQL Server Replication, Transact-SQL, and other related tools.
- Strong proficiency in performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and tuning.
- Strong knowledge of high availability and disaster recovery concepts for high transaction systems.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server, hardware platforms, storage systems, networking concepts, virtualization, etc.
- Experience with database monitoring tools.
- Experience with using SQL Server on Amazon or Azure
- Familiar with software versioning / source control tools.
- Familiar with collaboration tools (JIRA, Confluence, Slack, etc).
- Good written and verbal communication skills, both with team members and product stakeholders.
- Strong time management skills.
- Bachelor’s Degree and/or relevant certifications.
- Experience in Warehouse Fulfillment and/or Robotics industry a plus.
