Job Description

As Production Planner at Locus Robotics, you will play a crucial role in coordinating and optimizing our production activities to meet customer demand efficiently. You will be responsible for creating production schedules, managing work orders, and collaborating with various departments to ensure smooth production operations. Your keen attention to detail and ability to adapt to changing demands will be essential in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Production Scheduling: Develop and maintain production schedules based on S&OP: forecasted demand, customer orders, and available resources
  2. Work Order Management: Create, release, and maintain all production work orders
  3. Resource Allocation: Coordinate with production teams to allocate resources, including labor and materials, to meet production targets
  4. Demand Forecasting: Key participant in S&OP process - gather and analyze data to improve demand forecasting accuracy, MRP inputs
  5. Production Efficiency: Continuously assess and optimize production processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs
  6. Order Tracking: Track the progress of production orders, ensuring they are completed on time
  7. Communication: Act as a liaison between various departments, including production, procurement, order management and logistics, to ensure coordination and seamless information flow
  8. Inventory Management: Monitor production inventory levels of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods, support processes to replenish and prevent shortages and excess
  9. Problem Solving: Identify production bottlenecks and work with cross-functional teams to resolve issues that may affect production schedules. Drive root cause analysis and resolution of business-system issues
  10. Reporting: Generate regular reports on production performance, on-time delivery, and other key metrics for management review

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
  • 5+ years of experience in production planning, scheduling, or a related role.
  • Strong Proficiency utilizing ERP and planning tools
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated advanced Excel skills – proficient with advanced application functions such as pivot tables, lookups, conditional lists, macros, etc
  • Experience working with Contract Manufacturers
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, start-up environment
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to meeting deadlines

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) or similar
  • Familiarity with NetSuite ERP production processes and standards
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles
  • Understanding of ECO’s and change management
