Job Description
The Linux Foundation is looking for an experienced print and web designer to join our design team. In this role, you will support the design needs of the Linux Foundation and many of its diverse projects. You will work on high-level branding, front-end web design, digital advertising, publication design, and event design. Reporting to the Head of Brand and Design within the Linux Foundation marketing team, your talents will be a core part of our success and your professional growth. This position requires a dynamic, results-oriented individual who can handle a fast-paced environment and react quickly to changing needs.
The Linux Foundation is a 100% remote organization. The position can be based anywhere in the continental U.S. or Canada.
What You’ll Be Doing
Lead design for assets across print, digital, and web, including: digital advertising, front-end web design, logos/identity, event design, infographics, presentations, social media, and reports/publications
Execute creative ideas and concepts in partnership with the marketing team and design/production team.
Maintain and reinforce brand standards, both internally and externally.
Balance multiple projects successfully to meet deadlines and collaborate across multiple stakeholders with different priorities, ensuring deliverables are completed on time and at the highest quality.
Responsible for seeing all projects through from concept, design, production, completion and delivery.
Present design work at various stages to stakeholders for review and final approval.
Stay current on industry trends and share ideas and recommendations for innovating design approaches.
Help bring new ideas for design and content creation to the team using your creativity and eye for great design.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in graphic design or related field or comparable career experience.
Minimum of 8 years relative design experience, preferably in a design firm or in-house creative department.
Strong portfolio with examples of both web and print collateral, in addition to clear conceptual work
High proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (especially Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop).
Strong attention to detail and organization.
Strong experience in print and digital production, web design, and event design.
Strong publication design experience, including skillful execution of data graphics and charts
Ability to apply style guides creatively while upholding brand identity.
Experience in the tech industry a plus
Experience with animation a plus
