Job Description

Searching for your dream job? At LinkedIn, we strive to help our employees find passion and purpose. Join us in changing the way the world works.

This role is based in Amsterdam, Netherlands.

Our approach to flexible work is centered on trust and optimized for culture, connection, clarity, and the evolving needs of our business. This is a hybrid role, meaning it can be performed from home and from our Amsterdam office on select days, depending on business and team needs.

We are looking for a Mid-Market Hybrid Account Director to join our Academics & Government Talent Solutions team, serving Public Sector and Academic customers across the Benelux.

This role combines new business development, account growth and strategic customer partnership. You will help organizations address their talent, skills and learning priorities through LinkedIn’s solutions, while proactively identifying and creating new opportunities within your territory.

You will act as a trusted advisor to customers, understanding their strategic challenges and connecting them to solutions that create measurable business value. We are looking for someone with a strong commercial mindset who enjoys opening doors, developing relationships and turning opportunities into sustainable growth.

Teamwork is at the heart of how we operate. We are looking for someone who believes that team success is just as important as individual success. Someone who actively shares knowledge, supports colleagues, challenges thinking constructively and contributes to an environment where people learn and win together.

While this is a hybrid role, we genuinely value spending time together in our Amsterdam office. We believe in-person collaboration adds meaningful value to creativity, learning, team connection and ultimately our ability to serve our customers. We are therefore looking for someone who enjoys being part of that environment and actively contributes to it.

Finally, as AI continues to transform the way organizations hire, develop talent and operate, we are particularly interested in someone who is curious and hands-on with AI. Someone who can translate the possibilities of AI into tangible value for customers, while also using AI to work smarter and improve our own commercial processes.

Responsibilities

  • Drive new business, growth and renewal revenue across small and medium-sized Local Government, Healthcare and Academic accounts in the Benelux.
  • Proactively identify, create and develop new opportunities through strategic prospecting, account planning and strong territory management.
  • Build trusted relationships with customer stakeholders and connect LinkedIn’s solutions to their strategic talent, skills and learning priorities.
  • Develop and execute a clear territory and account strategy, maintain a healthy pipeline and deliver accurate and reliable forecasts.
  • Translate developments in AI and emerging technology into relevant customer conversations and tangible business value.
  • Use AI in your own day-to-day work to improve areas such as account research, prospecting, preparation, prioritization and sales productivity.
  • Bring curiosity and experimentation to the team by identifying opportunities where AI can simplify or improve internal commercial processes and share successful approaches with colleagues.
  • Be an active contributor to the wider team by sharing knowledge, supporting colleagues, building on each other’s ideas and celebrating collective success.
  • Invest in face-to-face collaboration and contribute actively to team moments in our Amsterdam office, recognizing the value this brings to learning, creativity and team performance.
  • Share customer and market insights with internal partners, including Product and Marketing teams, to help strengthen our customer proposition.
  • Help develop and scale best practices that contribute to the continued growth of the Academics & Government business.

    • Fluency in French.
    • A strong track record in new business development and consultative selling, with the ability to create opportunities rather than solely manage an existing pipeline.

    • Strong curiosity about AI and emerging technology, with the ability to translate technology into practical customer and business value.
    • Experience using AI-enabled tools to improve personal productivity, customer engagement or commercial processes.
    • Ability to understand complex customer challenges and connect solutions to clear and measurable business outcomes.
    • Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both operational and senior stakeholders.
    • Strong territory, pipeline and forecasting discipline, using data and insights to prioritize opportunities and make informed decisions.
    • Ability to navigate multiple stakeholders and orchestrate complex sales opportunities from discovery through closure.
    • A true team player who gets energy from helping others succeed and believes collective success is as important as individual performance.
    • Someone who values face-to-face collaboration and is motivated to spend meaningful time working alongside colleagues in our Amsterdam office within a hybrid working model.
