Job Description

Talent Productivity Engineering is a team at LinkedIn that builds products that power LinkedIn’s business. We drive technology vision, architecture, and design systems that help the company deliver major business processes (talent acquisitions, sales, finance, and benefits etc.). We deliver applications and products that let our customers do business with us in a seamless way, help grow our top line, and increase our efficiency.

We are seeking extraordinary talent to innovate, design, and build integrations serving both internal HR applications and external systems. This hands-on technical role demands a strong analytical, data modeling and programming background. Preferred candidates will have experience designing and developing complex Workday integrations and APIs between HR applications and third-party systems (ADP and other Payroll systems, Compensation and Benefit systems, SmartRecruiters or ATS systems, Active Directory, Sailpoint, etc.)

This role will be based in Bangalore, India.

Responsibility:

  • Develop, test, and implement robust Workday integrations that meet business needs.

  • Analyze business and functional requirements, create comprehensive technical design documents, and deliver integrations that are thoroughly unit-tested, code-reviewed, and seamlessly deployed.

  • Partner with cross-functional teams such as Payroll, Finance, Sales Ops, Facilities, Enterprise Productivity Engineering to streamline and automate data delivery and synchronization among enterprise applications

  • Facilitate requirements gathering and process mapping workshops, review business/functional requirement documents, author technical design documents, test plans, support plans and produce high quality integrations 

  • Regularly monitor and troubleshoot existing Workday integrations, ensuring data accuracy, performance, and compliance with organizational policies.

  • Operate with a high degree of agility, producing top-quality deliverables while managing tasks independently.

  • Identify opportunities for process optimization, automation, and innovation to enhance system capabilities.

  • Implement robust monitoring, logging, and automated error-handling frameworks across all Workday integrations to minimize pipeline downtime.

  • Enforce strict data privacy, encryption, and governance standards across all integration pipelines handling sensitive PII, HR, and financial data.

  • Innovate for the future and evaluate new Platforms, develop Proof of concepts, pave for continuous improvements on the technology stack (such as on Workday Extend platforms, Cloud Integration tools and systems.) to ensure the technology solutions leverage cutting edge integration capabilities 

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS degree in CS, CE, EE or related field or equivalent hands-on experience

  • 6+ years expert level current hands on experience in Workday integrations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience designing, developing, testing, deploying, and supporting end-to-end Workday integrations using Workday Studio, EIB, Core Connectors, Cloud Connect, Extend, and Workday Web Services (SOAP/REST)

  • Experience developing and supporting outbound/inbound integrations with third-party and downstream systems (payroll providers, benefits providers,  financial systems, data warehouses).
    Experience writing and optimizing XSLT, XPath, Groovy, and Workday Custom Report-based transformations for complex data mapping requirements. 

  • Experience building and maintaining custom applications, orchestrations, and extensions on the Workday Extend platform (Standard and Professional), including custom business objects, APIs, and UI pages.

  • Experience configuring and troubleshooting PECI and other payroll/financial interface protocols as needed. 

  • Experience building advanced calculated fields, custom reports (including matrix and composite reports), and RaaS (Report-as-a-Service) endpoints for downstream consumption. 

  • Experience owning integration security design, including integration system users (ISUs), security groups, X.509 certificates, OAuth 2.0, and API access policies aligned to least-privilege principles. 

  • Hands-on experience with file encryption standards (PGP, X.509) and secure transport protocols (SFTP, HTTPS, AS2).

  • Proven track record with source control systems (Git) for managing Workday Studio and Extend codebase repositories.

  • Understanding of development methodology and actual experience writing functional and technical design specifications

  • Experience in Workday AI automation capabilities to streamline processes and enhance integration and reporting workflows.
