Job Description

This role is based in Omaha.

At LinkedIn, our approach to flexible work is centered on trust and optimized for culture, connection, clarity, and the evolving needs of our business. The work location of this role is hybrid, meaning it will be performed both from home and from a LinkedIn office on select days, as determined by the business needs of the team.

About the Team:

The Scaled Sales Development (SSD) organization builds and runs innovative, scalable sales motions that support LinkedIn's small business customers across the full lifecycle, from first acquisition through upsell. SSD engages prospects through digital and chat-based sales experiences, guides customers through the buying journey, and turns interest into revenue by applying consistent sales practices and performance insights that scale growth.

The Incubations team sits at the leading edge of that work. We test, pilot, and stand up brand new sales motions before they scale, then package what works into repeatable plays the wider organization can run. It is fast-moving and hands-on, and it is a great place to learn how new go-to-market ideas travel from hypothesis to real revenue.

About the Role:

As a Scaled Sales Development Consultant 1 (IC1) on the Incubations team, you will engage prospects through digital and chat-based sales experiences, support customers through the buying journey, and convert interest into revenue. You will apply defined sales practices and task-level performance insights to drive growth across your assigned customer segments, while helping the team pilot and refine outreach motions that are still being built. This is an entry-level individual contributor role that comes with strong coaching, clear playbooks, and real room to grow.

LinkedIn's approach to flexible work is centered on trust and optimized for culture, connection, clarity, and the evolving needs of the business. This role is hybrid, which means the work is performed both from home and from a LinkedIn office on select days, based on the needs of the team.

Responsibilities:

Engage customers and drive growth:

  • Deliver outreach to customers using provided context and defined use cases, and execute established touch strategies that follow prospecting best practices to optimize engagement.

  • Apply working knowledge of LinkedIn products and full-cycle sales processes to communicate value and move prospects through the buying journey.

  • Capture the voice of the customer, including needs and feedback, from your direct interactions, and share it back to help improve outreach.

  • Use data and guidance to inform your execution, stay aligned to core KPIs and team goals, and identify individual prospect pain points that point to better outreach.

  • Use fundamental knowledge of sales-funnel analytics and performance data to adjust your messaging and activity patterns in ways that support results.

  • Build transparent, trusting working relationships within the team and with Sales partners, and resolve common customer issues within your own workstream.

  • Respond to common challenges using written guidance and QA frameworks, ask for help when you need it, and seek and apply feedback on your assigned work.

Pilot and incubate new sales motions:

  • Execute assigned pilot activities by applying hypotheses, defined processes, and success criteria, and communicate clear conclusions through structured readouts.

  • Run defined go-to-market experiments across outreach channels and messaging, and capture results to support team learning.

  • Evaluate customer feedback and performance data to inform optimization and scaling decisions within your assigned pilots, adjusting your approach as priorities and constraints shift.

  • Learn and apply analytical techniques to customer and pipeline data to spot trends and track pilot performance.

  • Navigate ambiguity by finding the right resources, sourcing missing information, and applying defined processes to launch new outreach motions.

  • Build foundational knowledge of unfamiliar motions, flex your execution with guidance, and synthesize pilot learnings into simple documentation and summaries that help the team move forward.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 1+ year of experience in sales, business development, recruiting, lead generation, or sales operations; or related field.
  • High School Diploma, General Educational Development (GED), or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in sales, business development, recruiting, lead generation, or sales operations.

  • Strong adaptability, change adoption, and comfort working in ambiguity, staying effective and positive as pilots, priorities, and motions evolve.

  • Curiosity about data, with an interest in using analytics and performance insights to sharpen outreach.

  • A growth mindset and eagerness to learn LinkedIn's products, tools, and AI-assisted selling workflows.

  • Strong written communication and a customer-first mindset across chat, email, and other digital channels.

Suggested Skills:

  • Problem Solving
  • Knowledge Transfer
  • Executive Presence
