Job Description
Depending on the location of the best talent, this role can be filled in Berlin or Munich.
LinkedIn is looking for a highly motivated journalist (based in either Berlin or Munich) to curate the news and conversations that help members navigate their careers and build an active professional community. In this role, you will curate quality creator conversations and cover trending news topics (in German) in real time for distribution across the platform. You'll also be collaborating with a team of editors based in Munich and in Berlin, and with our global team of editors. Our goal is to share the news and views that matter to help professionals talk about what matters in Germany — and that includes finding the right companies and people to follow through our coverage.
The role involves discovering and summarizing a mix of breaking news and trends while curating the right creator voices for each story, putting strong emphasis on topics that professionals need to know about now and that spark great conversations. The successful candidate will be a strong, fast and accurate editor with a knack for snappy writing and an eye for spotting and highlighting high-quality shares from creators.
The ability to write accurately under deadline pressure is essential. You’ll take complex information and communicate it clearly, concisely and correctly, without relying on technical or corporate jargon. The best candidate lives and breathes professional news and has a passion for following and spotting the kind of topics that are igniting professional conversations.
You will join a dynamic team building something brand new in business news and views, and get a fast education in platforms and entrepreneurial journalism. LinkedIn’s 75+ editors work around the globe: New York, San Francisco, London, Paris, Madrid, Milan, Dubai, Munich, Berlin, São Paulo, Bangalore, Tokyo, Singapore, Beijing and Sydney. They previously worked at media companies like Süddeutsche Zeitung, the AP, CNBC, Wired, Reuters, The Wall Street Journal and more. Our news editors help define the future of how professionals create, curate and consume business content.
