They are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Procurement Specialist with strong expertise in purchasing and logistics sourcing to support their Procurement Managers across multiple categories, including Marketing, IT, and Logistics (Warehouse & Transportation).

Job Description

● Develop and implement innovative procurement strategies to optimize cost savings and efficiency

● Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify potential suppliers, evaluate processes, and enhance procurement operations

● Negotiate contracts and agreements with vendors to ensure favorable terms and conditions

● Develop formal bid packages for supplies, incorporating market trend analyses and alternative sourcing options

● Provide guidance to internal stakeholders on procurement best practices, selection requirements, and alternatives

● Troubleshoot and resolve discrepancies related to purchase orders, requisitions, supplier deliveries, prices, and quality

● Evaluate and manage supplier relationships to drive performance and optimize outcomes

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in procurement or purchasing roles, with a strong understanding of sourcing processes, supplier management, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate and manage contracts, particularly for large or nonstandard purchases, showcasing strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Prior hands-on experience in logistics procurement, including sourcing and negotiating for warehouse operations, transportation services, or other logistics-related categories.
  • Language Requirements: Japanese: Native or fluent (oral and written) English: Fluent (oral and written)

Additional Information

  • Duration: 1-year engagement, with the possibility of extension
  • Location: Hybrid work model (home + Tokyo office), ideally 2–3 days in the office per week
  • Work Hours: 40 hours per week during regular business hours
