About The Role

As a Quality Assurance Analyst, you’ll be a hands-on member of our Mobile Product Team, partnering closely with product managers, designers, and engineers to ensure a smooth, high‑quality experience across our iOS and Android apps. You’ll be deeply involved throughout the development lifecycle – from refining requirements and designing test strategies, to executing both manual and automated tests, and championing quality for every mobile release.

You will primarily support our React Native/Expo–based mobile apps, working across key customer journeys such as property insights, live equity, appointments, authentication, and notifications.

Job Description

  • Plan, prepare, and execute testing for mobile features and releases in collaboration with the Test Manager and mobile engineering team.
  • Participate in requirements and UX reviews to clarify acceptance criteria, edge cases, and mobile‑specific behaviours (navigation, gestures, offline, push, deep links).
  • Design and maintain structured mobile test cases (e.g. by feature/module such as Live Equity, Rate Radar, onboarding, biometrics) in Jira/Confluence, ensuring coverage across platforms and device types.
  • Create test cases in Gherkin format where appropriate to support BDD and clear communication with developers and product owners.
  • Execute functional, regression, smoke, end‑to‑end and exploratory testing on real devices and simulators/emulators, across different OS versions and screen sizes.
  • Manage and validate mobile builds (e.g. via Expo) in staging and production environments, including install/upgrade flows and environment configuration.
  • Log, triage, and track defects in Jira, working closely with developers to reproduce issues, clarify impact, and verify fixes.
  • Perform targeted regression testing for resolved bugs and high‑risk journeys (e.g. onboarding, login/biometrics, payments, booking, map/location and search flows).
  • Contribute to mobile test automation by collaborating with engineers to design, review, and maintain automated tests for critical flows (e.g. smoke/regression suites) and by identifying good candidates for automation.
  • Use test management and collaboration tools (Jira, Confluence) to document plans, execution status, and test evidence for each release.
  • Provide clear, timely reporting on testing progress, risks, and quality status to stakeholders (QA Lead, Product, Engineering).
  • Continuously improve test coverage and process, suggesting improvements to our mobile QA strategy, regression packs, and use of AI‑assisted tools for test design and documentation.

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For In You:

  • Outcomes‑focused and flexible, with a strong customer mindset and an eye for mobile UX and usability.
  • Proactive and accountable – you take ownership of your work, follow through on issues, and raise risks early.
  • Strong collaborator who builds effective working relationships with QA, Product, Design, and Engineering, and can influence for quality when trade‑offs are needed.
  • Approachable and clear communicator, able to explain mobile issues and risks in business‑friendly language.
  • Self‑starter with solid time management, able to prioritise test scope and manage workload across multiple mobile features and releases.
  • Comfortable working autonomously with minimal supervision, while also contributing as part of a cross‑functional squad.
  • Detail‑oriented and quality‑driven, with a structured approach to test design and documentation.
  • Open to feedback, a good listener, and able to quickly apply new knowledge (tools, frameworks, product domains).

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related field; ISTQB certification or equivalent is a plus.
  • Proven experience in software quality assurance, with strong understanding of QA methodologies, STLC and SDLC in an agile environment.
  • Hands‑on experience testing mobile applications (iOS and/or Android), ideally on React Native or similar cross‑platform frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience testing mobile applications using simulators/emulators (e.g., Xcode and Android Studio)
  • Strong experience with:
    • Functional, regression, smoke, UAT, end‑to‑end and exploratory testing.
    • Designing and executing mobile test cases across different device types, OS versions, and network conditions.
  • Experience with mobile test automation (UI and/or API) using tools such as Appium, Detox, or similar frameworks.
  • Practical experience with Jira, plus documentation in Confluence.
  • Experience logging and managing defects, including impact assessment, prioritisation, and retest/closure.
  • Ability to analyse complex systems and data flows, understand dependencies with backend services and APIs, and design tests accordingly.
  • Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, iterative delivery environment, meeting release timelines while maintaining quality.

Nice to Have:

  • Exposure to React Native / Expo pipelines, including build and deployment workflows for internal testing.
  • Experience with API testing (e.g. Postman, REST clients) and integrating backend validation into mobile test flows.
  • Familiarity with analytics and event tracking validation (e.g. Amplitude, custom event schemas) in mobile apps.
  • Experience using AI‑assisted tools for test case generation, documentation, or analysis.
  • Background in financial services, lending, or property technology is a plus, but not essential.
