Job Description

Your New Role

The role of the Service Operations Manager is to provide technical leadership and management of the JP2096 Development Centre.  The Service Operations Manager is responsible and accountable to the JP2096 Development Centre Service Delivery Manager for the efficient and effective delivery and quality of Leidos Service Delivery Team (SDT) engineering/technical products and Services.

Principal duties and responsibilities:

  • Own, and ensure compliance to, Approved SDT engineering and technical governance and operational policies and procedures
  • Regularly reviews, recommends changes and implements approved changes to engineering and technical governance and operational policies and procedures
  • Ensures all customer and Leidos operational reporting

About You and What You'll Bring

Key attributes

  • 5+ years of experience leading technical delivery teams in an ongoing operational environment
  • Demonstrated technical and team leadership skills in a client facing role
  • Practical operational understanding of Configuration, Change and Release, Incident and Service Request management, reporting and processes within a large corporate ITIL production environment
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Must be willing to undergo and maintain an Australian Government security clearance at NV1 level – Australian citizenship is a mandatory requirement

Required skills

  • Windows server and Linux administration skills
  • Knowledge of networks, network protocols and tools
  • Experience with scripting languages and task automation
  • Experience with ticketing, knowledge management and ITSM products such as JIRA, HP ALM and Confluence
  • Basic database administration skills for common DB types such as MS SQL and Oracle
  • Experience working with software development teams and understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle
  • Knowledge of ITIL processes

Education

  • Bachelor Degree qualified with a major in Computer Science, or related field
