Job Description

The High Yield Senior Portfolio Manager will lead portfolio construction and monitoring of the high yield portfolios at LGIMA. This role includes managing the US high yield portion of the Global high yield portfolios, U.S. high yield portfolios and high yield positions in investment grade portfolios.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the high yield analysts on portfolio construction and monitoring.
  • Collaborate with Global HY team in London on asset allocation and security selection.
  • Identify and have a strong comprehension of relative-value trade ideas within specific issuer names and sectors.
  • Develop relationships with existing Wall Street sales, trading and syndicate desks.
  • Optimize and monitor portfolio position weighting with respect to sector, industry, issuer and security selection compared to benchmarks and targets. Bank loan experience is desired but not mandatory.
  • Work with the Strategy team to prepare materials and commentary for the monthly High Yield Strategy meeting. Participate actively and communicate results to the LDI Solutions, client service, distribution and marketing teams.       Incorporate the global macro view into risk positioning.
  • Lead the discussion on the high yield portion of the investment team’s morning call.
  • Liaise with other departments internally, including: LDI/Solutions, Index, Legal/Compliance, Sales/Marketing, and Investment Operations.
  • Collaborate with the Client Service and Distribution teams on creating marketing presentations and reports for clients.
  • Must be a self-starter, willing to take initiative and display a willingness to work in a team environment with the common goal of building a top-tier High Yield business both in the U.S. and globally.

Qualifications

  • Driven and experienced individual with a deep understanding of the high yield credit markets.
  • Fundamental credit investor with very strong analytical skills including strong knowledge and broad coverage of the high yield credit and bank loan universe.
  • Collaborative leader who can work closely with a team of high yield analysts to drive investment decisions.
  • Strong relationships with sell side counterparties to help drive execution.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with a willingness to market LGIMA’s high yield process to consultants, potential investors and existing clients.
  • 10+ years of experience in a high yield portfolio management role.

Additional Information

$250,000 to $280,000

The starting salary offer will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to the applicant’s education, job-related experience, skills, and abilities, geographic location, and market factors. This position is also eligible to participate in the company’s annual discretionary bonus plan.
