Job Description
We’re currently looking to hire a Head of Asset Allocation Investment Specialists to join L&G Asset Management
You’ll be part of L&G’s Asset Allocation team, which manages over £100 billion across pooled and segregated multi-asset funds. The team integrates four complementary groups:
- Economists – providing macroeconomic foundations
- Strategists – translating macro insights into investment themes
- Fund Managers – designing and managing portfolios
- Investment Specialists (AAIS) – articulating investment views, fund impacts and driving client engagement
As Head of Asset Allocation Investment Specialists (AAIS) you will hold a central role within L&G’s strategically important Asset Allocation team, leading 5 London based investment specialists and overseeing offshore work via our outsourcing partners

What you’ll be doing:
- Leading a team of 5 investment specialists working across the Asset Allocation team’s range of products and markets, as well as the strategy for our offshore investment specialist work
- Owning the AAIS contribution to Asset Allocation net flows, consultant engagement outcomes, and priority client opportunities
- Setting the framework, standards and prioritisation logic under which AAIS outputs are produced and ensuring the team identify and implement efficiencies and innovate
- Supporting the AAIS in their personal development, including setting the standards for AI and technology usage across the team
- Working with Asset Allocation leaders to identify new commercial opportunities, triage and select those to pursue, and oversee the proposition formation through collaboration and delegation
- Strategically lead on relationships with Product, Marketing and parts of Distribution, representing the Asset Allocation strategy/vision
- Managing and delivering key projects for AAIS and the broader Asset Allocation team, driving outcomes to delivery through effective delegation, prioritisation and stakeholder management
Who we’re looking for:
- People Leadership or Management experience in the investment industry, ideally with multi-asset knowledge
- Evidence of strong judgement in strategic planning and delivery to enable the ownership and progress of initiatives
- Strong stakeholder judgement across Asset Allocation and wider L&G, with the ability to balance perspectives, work with different seniorities and make decisions under ambiguity
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex investment ideas into clear, client-friendly language
- Organised and proactive, with strong time management and prioritisation skills
- A growth mindset, to embrace technology as well as identify, initiate and oversee process improvements
- Role modelling of delivery, skills and behaviours to help development of the AAIS team
- Experience with Python and/or MS Copilot
Whatever your role, we reward performance and behaviour with a package that looks after all the things that are important to you. Here are some of the benefits we offer:
- The opportunity to participate in our annual, performance -related bonus plan and valuable share schemes

- Competitive family leave
- Participate in our electric car scheme, which offers employees the option to hire a brand-new electric car through tax efficient salary sacrifice (permanent employees only)
- There are many discounts we offer – both for our own products and at a range of high street stores and online
- We’re creating net‑zero carbon workplaces by 2030 by investing in our sustainable, modern offices across the UK, all designed to bring people together and elevate the in‑person experience
