Job Description

We’re looking for an Income Protection Claims Consultant to join our Retail Protection Claims team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with customers, building relationships and managing claims. You’ll play a key role in delivering a fair, supportive and consistent claims experience, making a real difference to people when they need it most.

    What you'll be doing:

    • Setting up and managing new Income Protection claims
    • Requesting and reviewing medical evidence from GPs, consultants and other specialists
    • Reviewing claims in line with agreed assessment timescales
    • Building positive relationships with customers, IFAs and third parties
    • Maintaining accurate records and ensuring claims are handled in line with processes and legislation
    • Delivering a consistent, timely and customer‑focused service aligned to service level agreements
    • Identifying complaints or breaches and escalating them appropriately
    • Handling inbound calls with confidence and professionalism

    Who we're looking for:

     

    • Experience working in a claims, insurance or customer‑focused environment
    • Knowledge of Income Protection products or a willingness to build this knowledge
    • Strong communication skills with the ability to build trust and rapport
    • A customer‑centred approach with the confidence to manage sensitive situations
    • Good judgement and attention to detail when reviewing information and evidence
    • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel
    • The ability to manage workloads, deadlines and priorities effectively
    • A collaborative mindset with a willingness to support team goals
