Job Description
We’re recruiting for an Interim Deputy Head of Supplier Management to join us on a 12 month FTC.
This interim role plays a key part in supporting our transformation journey, ensuring that we continue to deliver excellent commercial outcomes, strong supplier relationships and effective risk management while new tools and processes are implemented.
Working closely with senior leaders across the Group, you’ll bring commercial insight, strategic thinking and a people‑centred approach to maximise value from our third‑party relationships and ensure our Supplier Management function remains efficient, compliant and future‑ready.
What you’ll be doing:
- Leading the delivery of supplier relationship, performance, contract and commercial management activities across the Group
- Embedding supplier management policies, processes and standards to drive consistency and operational excellence
- Overseeing commercial, legal and service level negotiations for contract renewals in partnership with procurement teams
- Managing third‑party and outsourced service provider risk activities in line with regulatory and internal requirements
- Driving improvements to SRM capabilities, identifying opportunities for optimisation and championing best practice
- Managing processes and systems to ensure internal customers receive a high‑quality, consistent level of service
- Building, coaching and supporting high‑performing teams across multiple locations
- Partnering with business leaders to understand emerging needs and align supplier management activity effectively
Who we’re looking for:
- Experience in supplier/vendor management, category management or commercial management within complex organisations
- Strong knowledge of SRM and TPRM best practice, including risk management of outsourced service providers
- Ability to lead multidisciplinary, multi‑location teams with an inclusive and supportive leadership approach
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, able to build strong relationships with senior stakeholders
- Proven ability to negotiate commercial and contractual outcomes that deliver value
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and other relevant tools
- Experience working in fast‑paced or transformational environments, with the ability to adapt quickly
- Degree‑level education (or equivalent experience) in business, economics, supply chain or a related field
Whatever your role, we reward performance and behaviour with a package that looks after all the things that are important to you. Here are some of the benefits we offer:
- The opportunity to participate in our annual, performance -related bonus plan and valuable share schemes
- Generous pension contribution
- Life assurance
- Healthcare Plan (permanent employees only)
- At least 25 days holiday, plus public holidays, 26 days after 2 years’ service. There’s also the option to buy and sell holiday
- Competitive family leave
- Participate in our electric car scheme, which offers employees the option to hire a brand-new electric car through tax efficient salary sacrifice (permanent employees only)
- There are the many discounts we offer – both for our own products and at a range of high street stores and online
- We’re creating net‑zero carbon workplaces by 2030 by investing in our sustainable, modern offices across the UK, all designed to bring people together and elevate the in‑person experience
