Job Description

We’re recruiting for a Senior Finance Analyst - Expenses to join us. We’re offering a competitive base salary. 

We’re looking for a Senior Finance Analyst to join our busy Finance team in Cardiff. In this role, you’ll contribute to the smooth running of our finance operations, partner with colleagues across the business, and play a key part in supporting accurate, insightful reporting. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working collaboratively, solving problems, and making a meaningful impact in a dynamic environment.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Preparing and posting expense accruals and journals and collaborating with colleagues to ensure timely and accurate completion
  • Reviewing and improving reporting processes and outputs to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
  • Monitoring and updating headcount data to maintain accurate cost centre and HR system structures
  • Managing timely, accurate and informative management reporting relating to headcount and employee costs, including providing insights on trends
  • Making payments for subsidiaries, preparing associated journals and maintaining payment logs
  • Providing detailed expense analysis and offering insight into monthly variances
  • Responding to queries from stakeholders across the organisation and ensuring information is delivered to required specifications
  • Maintaining and updating procedure manuals to ensure processes remain current and well‑documented

Who we’re looking for:

  • AAT qualification or progress towards a professional accounting qualification
  • Strong understanding of accounting processes and principles
  • Confident Excel and general IT skills
  • Experience working with accounting systems (desirable)
  • Clear and effective communication skills, including the ability to produce high‑quality written reports
  • A collaborative team player who supports shared goals
  • A delivery‑focused approach with strong attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines
  • Experience within a UK financial services environment (desirable)
