We’re looking for a Finance Analyst to join our Tax Operations function in Cardiff. This is a great opportunity to contribute to accurate and reliable tax reporting across the business, support colleagues with tax‑related queries, and play an important role in our wider Group Cost Management activity. You’ll be joining a collaborative team that encourages learning, supports development, and values different perspectives.
What you’ll be doing:
- Coordinating and collating tax data for funds tax, corporation tax, employment tax and VAT reporting submitted to HMRC and other tax authorities
- Working closely with the Group Tax team to ensure tax rules and methodologies are clearly understood and applied accurately
- Providing guidance and support to colleagues across the business for tax operations queries
- Delivering analytical support, management information and reporting to aid tax‑related decision making
- Supporting the wider cost management team with month‑end and quarterly deliverables including journal postings, reconciliations and cost analysis
- Maintaining and contributing to strong financial controls by updating processes, guides, frameworks and process maps
- Identifying and progressing opportunities for process improvement and supporting their implementation
- Collaborating across teams to ensure data accuracy, consistency and timely delivery of requirements
Qualifications
Who we’re looking for:
- A part‑qualified accountant or a finance professional with relevant experience in tax or analytical finance
- Strong Excel capability, including working with data from multiple sources and ensuring accuracy
- A general understanding of tax principles and their application
- Awareness of the financial services sector and its regulators (desirable but not essential)
- Clear and confident communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively across teams
- A proactive approach to problem‑solving, organisation and continuous improvement
Whatever your role, we reward performance and behaviour with a package that looks after all the things that are important to you. Here are some of the benefits we offer:
- The opportunity to participate in our annual, performance -related bonus plan and valuable share schemes
- Generous pension contribution
- Life assurance
- Healthcare Plan (permanent employees only)
- At least 25 days holiday, plus public holidays, 26 days after 2 years’ service. There’s also the option to buy and sell holiday
- Competitive family leave
- Participate in our electric car scheme, which offers employees the option to hire a brand-new electric car through tax efficient salary sacrifice (permanent employees only)
- There are the many discounts we offer – both for our own products and at a range of high street stores and online
- In 2023, some of our workspaces were redesigned. Our offices are great spaces to connect and collaborate and have your wellbeing at the heart
